Why is game development so hard? I get an idea, I try making it, I 3D model many things and code a lot but then midway in I get discouraged because I don't know if it will be a good game and it takes a lot of work, so I forget the idea.

To me it sounds like you’re doing too many things in the beginning, honestly at that stage it’s better to use placeholder assets. So stuff like 1 color cubes/squares, maybe even premade assets with the intention to replace them later
Also, you might be overthinking stuff mid-process. Don’t get too hung up on whether an idea works, whether a game is fun or not. It’s better to just get some core gameplay working first and expand on it after that’s established. Else you’ll never finish!! Gotta just go for it sometimes and turn off your brain

from my experience in game development
making games like movies but the viewer will be live a experience but in a game
the developer will program all content of game
making art and animations
design the levels and environement
making sounds and music
QA testing and solving problems
the final is marketing
production game had 6 levels:
Concept idea,Prototype,Pre Production,Production ,QA Testing ,Marketing
so the developer will need good time,good experience and good funds
so why many peoples saw that Game Development is So Hard
Spend some time planning at the start so you know exactly what kind of game you want to make before you start fiddling with coding and 3d models. It's fine to change things as you're developing but if you're trying to change the genre mid way through development then that's gonna be messy.
This advice isn't perfect but it helped me a bit: work in iterations. Make a first version of your game that is extremely simplified, but functional and "complete". Then rework it to add some elements and create a new "simplified-complete" version. Do that again, and again...until the end of the project.
The important part is to only focus on the few things you want to add, in order to have something “playable” at the end of said cycle, even if you know you're gonna have to delete some of it later.

im basic programmer. and it´s hard, i know. but it´s makes more easy if you watch tutorials from youtube! thanks if i helped you ;)!
Stare at a wall for 1 hour. You'll feel very motivated to dev.
