[OpenToonz] Basic Madness Combat Sprite Sheet

I made a sprite sheet in OpenToonz and thought I'd share it. I just traced the original sprites while adding a knife and two guns. The sheet itself only contains the very basics, but should be enough to get going. Creating your own clothes and weapons is the fun part after all.

OpenToonz is free and open-source and was the alternative I went with after Adobe. Highly recommend it.

In any case, here you go!

Import instructions can be downloaded in the same link, they're just images though.

I already mentioned in the other thread, but one should also try a fork of it as well, which is very closely connected with OpenToonz (The devs share heavily among the two projects), called Tahoma2D.

I think the future of indie animation looks bright.

If the fork haven't made any significant changes to how Levels work, then there shouldn't be any issues importing it for those who wish to use Tahoma2D instead.

I can recall once there was a brief period of import issues, but those bugs always get fixed.

How do spritesheets work in opentoonz and tahoma2d?

You create levels which you can then save separately from your project, they can also be imported into a project. Then you can just copy stuff from it to your "main" levels where you have your movie. You can even separate a sprite sheet into many different levels if you want; one with body parts, one with guns, etc.

If you're just starting out with OpenToonz I suggest going to YouTube and go through a beginner's tutorial, will save you a lot of pain and I got to be honest, when I opened the program the first time I had no clue what to do, even if I have experience in Adobe Flash. So highly recommended you do that to familiarise yourself with how the tools work, levels, colors, etc.

oh shit, this makes sense, I've had some experience with tahoma, though mostly in frame to frame animation
