I've been using flash for years, but only just realized how awesome extensions can be!

Here is a great list of extensions you can use for flash.
Some of my favorites are:
Autosave
Automatically saves flash at a set time
Pixel Tools
A pixel freehand, eraser, circle and line tool. Pixel sizes can be resized the same way lines are in the properties toolbar.
vCam
Creates a movie clip that acts as a rotatable, scalable, movable and reversable camera.
These are what i use when i am using flash CS4, i'm not sure if they will work with CS5 as i have not tried them in it yet.
The best, most popular and actively developed extensions for Flash and Animate are EDAP Tools.
The package consists of more than 20 tools and a professional grade rigging/posing system, called Smart Magnet Rigs (SMR).
Smart Graphic Control panel is better than Keyframe Caddy.
The tools work with all versions of Flash and Animate, except CS4.
And so it was today when I realized Ockeroid hasn't been active on Newgrounds for a long time. :(

how come it doesn’t work for cs4.

CS4 is the worst Flash ever released.
It's so broken internally that at one point we decided to give up trying to make EDAP Tools work in Flash CS4.
If you can, switch to CS6.
