Like do people even rate games from love anymore?

Or they just try to find ways to farm blams and saves?

Short answer: Yes, but fewer than before.

you need to make that your Game had :

  • Real gameplay (not a tech demo or empty scene)
  • A clear goal (win/lose condition)
  • At least a few minutes of content
  • No stolen assets (very important if you have money to hire artists)
  • No broken controls or crashes
  • Decent presentation (UI, sound, feedback)

People definitely do rate games "from love". The problem is, everyone has different views on what's a "good game", so many games often go under judgement.

If you are trying to make a good game, it will take time. Write down your ideas, understand your setting, learn your game engine, and more before just jumping in. The more planning you do, the better your game will be. Once you are creating your game, rigorously test it's gameplay before publishing. Once you ensure there are no bugs, and that game elements like story, progress, and difficulty are adjusted correctly, publish your game.

Hope to see your game on Newgrounds soon!
