Does 2.5-4k REALLY matter for flash?

More specifically, I'm referring to either flash 8 or flash CS6, not modern adobe animate.

Given that 4K is all the rage these days, does that resolution truly matter for a vector program (and an older vector program as well) like flash 8/CS6? Because I have no experience with seeing a 1080p flash movie on the silver screen, so I don't know if there would theoretically be an inferior experience compared to if it was exported as actual 4K resolution.

I guess it could possibly matter if you're using raster elements such as background images, but even then, I'm still not sure.

Tbh I don't even think it makes much of a difference between HD and 4K when it comes to animation.

Hell if 8K comes out I don't even think it will be all that different from 4K beyond the dimensions of a screen. I've personally felt that tech hit a plateau with resolutions.

8k is already available as an export from Davinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro, and it has been used for feature films already. But I assume 8k is for very expensive setups that no regular consumer has access to.

I would say it doesn't matter as much, as DioShiba said. For pure Flash animation which is hard-edged lines and flat, untextured, colors, there might not be too much more producing in 4K can offer. For me personally, I kinda see there's a principle of diminishing returns past HD/2K in the context of animation; live action is more suited to benefit from 4K. However the more textures/raster artwork someone implements into an animation, perhaps 4K becomes a more reasonable consideration.

But take my advice with a grain of salt, I'm someone who still believes 480p DVDs are good enough for me.

It doesn't matter 99% of the time. If anything, it makes older pieces of Windows software (nota bene including Macromedia Flash) either appear microscopic or badly scaled. I sometimes wish the 4K tablet I currently use was natively Full HD. Honestly, I don't want any compatibility headaches and if I want to use my tablet's drawing functionality, I gotta accept the high DPI. 👍

Moreover, I've set the scaling on Firefox to 200%, so that websites still have the same proportions as on a regular 1080p HD screen.

Already flash is ♾️ Quality due to the fact it is vector based. Though 1080p is the most you would need

When it's in SWF format, yes. It's all vectors. But upon export to image sequences or movie formats such as png, tiff, mp4, mov, avi, etc it gets rasterized. And pixels can only stretch so much until when upscaled it can get noticeably blurry. Or maybe 4k is like 3D TVs of 2010: a stupid gimmick that people are making fun of now because of how much it's promoted.
