Hey, guys! This is AYJAYKENS coming at ya with a question for the Newgrounds community!
Is there any indie-animation hidden gems worth watching? What I'm talking about is the trend in animation that took place in recent years. Thanks to Hazbin Hotel, Lackadaisy and Digital Circus, people have been making their own animated pilots or indie-animated series and uploading them to YouTube.
Some of them like Ramshackle and Punch Punch Forever are pretty successful, while others end up slipping through the cracks. Who knows? Maybe it's because of competition, the algorithm, or some other circumstance.
Recommend me and others what indie-animated pilot or series is worth checking out. Here are some rules:
-It has to be on YouTube. It's fine if it's on Newgrounds too, but YouTube is where the trend mainly takes place.
-It has to have less than 2 million views. If it has a little over one million, that's fine. I'm just looking for indie-animated pilots and series that are hidden gems, underrated, or even obscure. No more than 2 million views, and I'm talking about individual videos.
Here's my recommendation: Take My Muffin.
This series follows a unicorn guy named Korney, who has lost his memory, but has the ability to spontaneously give out brilliant startup ideas. He begins to work with a businessman, a three-eyed cat named Rok. He was founded by Rok and his crew, to not only get his memories back but also to help them make lots of money, and help pay the company's debt.
Think of this series like Rick and Morty, but instead of being entirely sci-fi, it features lots of magic and fantasy elements. They wear the influences on their sleeve while also making something new. The writing is also pretty genius and engaging, which is why I recommend this YouTube animated show.
P.S. It doesn't matter if your recommendation is for all ages, mature audiences, or somewhere in between.
