ADPCM Problem 2025-11-02 07:47:11

So, I'm having this problem with Flash. I've always had problems with audio in Flash, where, for no reason, at a certain point, the audio starts to lag half a second. The other day I discovered that the fix for this was to go into the Flash publishing settings and change the format to adpcm instead of mp3, and it worked. The only problem is that the audio has a bit of popping noise. I've tried changing the hertz and bitrates, but to no avail. Is there a way to fix this?

Yes, ADPCM is the way to go for SWF previews.

Before final export with Swivel, switch the audio to RAW.

Make sure that your sources are always 44100Hz 16-bit PCM WAV files before import.

If you still experience ADPCM pops with imported 44100-16 WAVs, then live with it. It will not be present in your RAW export.

You can also try to update the sound drivers. Some sound cards seem to be more prone to the pops than others.

Or you can try if RAW works better and stay with RAW all the way. Also if using AS3 file, try to switch it to AS2.
