do I just say stuff in voices I can do? do I try putting emotion into some lines? how long should it be? what do I do?
cause I made a really bad really cringe demo reel a year ago where I just did character impressions and I don't want to repeat my mistakes lol
any advice from would be nice... I'm planning on making a demo reel here soon since I want to lend my voice to more stuff here soon...
I don't know much personally, but I can link my Demo, and you can give it a listen and see if you like it. If you do, I can give you advice on what I did. I'm pretty new I haven't got any work yet, so I am inexperienced, but my second Demo was much better than my first. My Demo: Voice Demo 2.0
oooo yeah, that is a really good demo... I like it
Thank you, I hope I get some work eventually.
1) So, the first thing I did was writing random scripts that would take about eight to ten seconds to do and that tried to do a new voice each time to show my range. Also, if you have an audition or something prerecorded you like you can add that in.
2) Then I edited the audio in audacity got to (for the noise reduction record for about 10 seconds without making any noise so you can get a sample) Effect > Noise removal and repair > first get a noise sample then do Noise reduction, Effect > Eq and Filters > Filter Curve Eq > Presets & Settings > factory presets (do this for each one of these) > Bass Boost/Treble Boost/Low rolloff for speech, Effects > Legacy > Legacy compressor (leave the settings as is), and then effect > Legacy Limiter > Set to Hard Limit > click ok. This will make your audio nice and crisp.
3) Add sound effects and music. I went into cap cut and added my music onto my audio there, but you can do it in audacity too. You can go to websites like freesound.org to get music or sound effects, then add them into your demo in audacity.
4) Listen to it and see if it's something you enjoy or feel proud of then post it.
