For example, mine was something I came up with on the fly for pokemon go, and it's stuck ever since. (Yes I know, pretty boring) So how'd you come up with your online name?

I created this account as an alternative, and I chose this nickname when I just typed random letters and numbers, lol. But it's been a while, now it's my main nickname.
You know I used to be called TheAlexToolStudio
Cause it was original and I can short it for TATS then the username was too long for some services so I removed “the” in the name and you get the result

I got it as a joke when Dante's Inferno came out. I ended up not playing it until a few years ago though, it was good. Felt weird seeing how much EA has fallen though, from bad company with good games to just bad.

"Oshtinato" is just a clever way of combining "Ostinato" (music term) and Oshawott, my personal favorite pokemon. Because its adorable. There are much cuter pokemon. But its a clever little pun and you can't take it away from me.
In other circles of the internet, I go by SemichaoticSadism.io, or SemichaoticSadism_io if periods aren't allowed. The history behind that name is truly not very complicated. I needed a username that was moderately creative, and definitely not taken. I think I succeeded.
...unfortunately I don't think I can keep it for... reasons.
"Niko" cause of my real name
"Ninja" because I grew up watching series like TMNT, Lego Ninjago and playing Shadow Fight on my phone. C'mon, it was inevitable.
Later I changed the "ninja" part to "n1nja" because I played and watched a lot of CS:GO during s1mple's prime years and I wanted to be like him
Mine is a secret play on my family names and some personal quirks. I was struggling to decide on pen names for fiction writing and also to feel connected to my relatives when relationships were fraying.
Since then, I've figured out the assumptions from the vague bits of genealogy passed to me were actually wrong. Kind of. History and laguages are complicated.
shadowfals is now my name as much as any other collection of letters is.
Edit: How did I end up in the Audio forum? The best I do for audio is mess with sound files until I get them to work with games....

"DantesGrill" is honestly awesome. I've thought of names similar before ("DantesInferno", "DantesBushFire", "DantesFirepit", ect), but yours is superior.

I made Newgrounds as a way to post comics online so I wanted to make a more **”Professional”** name.
So I decided to give myself space alien theme because sometimes I feel like an Alien in a foreign planet I don’t understand :/ (Autism).
I choose Nova as an Online name because when I was creating an account I was questioning if I were trans (Spoiler alert- I am.) and so I thought a unisex name would work because wether I did end up transitioning, I wouldn’t have to change it!! :D

I've had some usernames throughout my life and even though lowkey nobody cares, i will explain all of them out
"PineappleOnPizza" my first one, made in like 2019 or so, made because im one of the few people that actually like pineapple on pizza
"joined" Made it because when i joined a game it said "joined joined the game" and my 10 year old brain thought it was funny
"Krypton/Zirconium" I had an era where i was obsessed with the periodic table for some reason and these were some of my favourite elements
"Lumez" i just asked chatgpt for a clean 5 letter name, yes, its ai generated 😭
"Breakcored" current username, basically because i loove breakcore but its not that good of an username

I had thought of rebranding myself almost 10 years ago because my art was changing dramatically and what my name was at the time wouldn't reflect that. So, it took me a couple years to figure out what I wanted to be renamed and branded as for the future.
I was shopping for something at an Office Max, and had randomly came up with "Porter" while walking around the aisles suddenly. Short, simple, and memorable yet reflects the style and visionary shift I was about to enter in for the next few years. This was what I wanted.
I texted it to a few people to hear their thoughts, and only one said it was a dumb idea. At the time, a lot of people online kept changing their names every week or so which caused a lot of confusion.
6 years later and after a while of having letters and "real" next to it, here we are now with just Porter.
Everything is only for a day, both that which remembers and that which is remembered.

I was thinking of a edgy username name for smth so I settled on this, kinda regret naming myself this.
It's a corruption of my legal middle name, Switzer, which is also my mother's maiden surname. It originally came from German Schweizer, meaning "Swiss person". Funny considering I have practically no Swiss ancestry...
I created my user name during my changed on my other online socials. Neon Demon was originated from a psychical horror film with the same name. I watched it awhile ago when I was little and that film always stick to me. It was beautifully horrific, how horror can be so pretty but also unsettling. It pretty much influence me on creating my current user name.
I just mixed some stuff with "Nya" untill I was satisfied with the result lol.

By the way, Vinity comes from Victor. My mother calls me Viti, and I wanted my main character's name to be similar to mine. I liked it so much that I use it everywhere now.
So the "Lance" part of my name is just because I thought it was catchy, but the "XD" part comes from when I was playing roblox with some friends and someone said "XD" to something funny I guess. I asked him what does XD mean, and he told me to turn my screen, and when I did, I saw that this was SUPER COOL! I was genuinely shocked to find out this laughing face, I used it as part of my username, and it has stuck ever since.
