for me i just kinda liked how much easier it felt to post my music stuff

I grew up with Newgrounds media, from famous Flash animations/games to iconic music made popular through Geometry Dash. When I started my music production journey, I wanted to contribute to that legacy of creativity, to "break new ground" so to speak. (And also in hopes of seeing my music used by GD creators, because of course)

I suppose that I had an account mostly to save my medals from playing games. At some point I wanted to post stuff but all I knew was making music, so that's what I did. Looking back I really sucked lol!!! But I guess it's part of the evolution

I use NewGrounds to dump music that I'm either not using or otherwise wouldn't be using.
I'm creating like 10 tracks a week, only end up using 2 or 3 of them for projects, and just didn't want the rest to go to waste.

To make a scene. I seek a loyal fanbase that knows the hiphop and electronic vibes I'm going for. There is also just a general vibe for posting on newgrounds added it's anti censorship. I'm going for maximum vibes and zen, hopefully inspiring others on the simple act of posting cool shit.

Started out on a website called "Musicshake" - eventually I progressed to using a DAW and was too intimidated to post my music on Soundcloud. That was back in 2011. I've come back now to bathe in nostalgia and field test upcoming releases in a stress free environment.

Bandlab was/is a crappy platform to share music on and I wanted an excuse to make a Newgrounds account anyways since I was playing games like Punk-o-Matic 2 and Newgrounds Rumble

At first it was just another platform that let you post your stuff…
But then you realize NG has forums so you can kinda talk to other musicians instead of just browsing portfolios mindlessly. And then you find out there's a music community that actually tries to inspire every level of musician through creative contests? Also of course…NG hosts creatives of other media that could potentially use your music, which makes it much easier to bridge that collaboration rather than on a strictly music-sharing site.

wanted to connect with other musicians, to discover non AI music, and to share my own tunes. i got on a grind of making things and after uploading stuff to youtube, for literally no reason at all, i just thought i should upload to NG. when uploading my first songs, i discovered that AI isn’t allowed here and kind of thought this must be the place
