Since I really don't feel like bumping a thread from two years ago I decided to make a new one entirely since I've been doing a few things here and there for fun or for serious work.

RECENTLY, I was able to get a few commissions IRL in the past few weeks. One of them being an animation that got me totally busy and after I got it done I had a bit of a burn out since I was piling a lot of things onto myself.

Also I realize that these are mostly edits from Silverbolt's Bowser sheet on TSR with a couple of elements from the Gigaleak, I wanted to share these animations in this thread since I've been doing what I can with these and giving what he worked on a bit more depth. I've shared these elsewhere on other communites but I think people would very much enjoy to see them here.

I don't often do this sort of thing but I know that, the Super Mario World style is a well liked one and I felt that his work could have been expanded on, now that the materials exist to really push these babies I figured I'd have a bit more fun on that and while keeping my animation skills sharp.

Annnd I have some more

Probably going to post the sprite sheet later with all the edits I got. Either way, I got more than enough content for these to be fully functional.

Here's a fully functional sheet for the bowser sprites I made with Silverbolt's original graphics

May or may not go back into this in the future, for now this ammount of work will suffice for a fully functional set of Bowser Sprites

Neat edits (I like how you included the infamous "up yours!" pose.)

Though just putting it out there, since his shell and skin, and hair and lips, share colors in the original sprite, the Modern palette isn't particularly useful. Unless you actually did make the values on those different parts mathematically but more or less imperceptibly different, there'd be no way to quickly and automatically palette swap them.

EDIT: Went back to actually test it, ended up with this. A small gripe, but anyone who actually wanted to use the modern palette would need to meticulously edit the entire sheet manually.

While you are not wrong, the only reason for its inclusion in this sheet is because, as I cited in my first post Silverbolt had originally made that palette. No other significant reason is there, besides that it could be used for a pixel art based animation if one decides to manually recolor the sprites, to why I decided to include it with this sheet and the poses I had done for it.

Hence why on the sheet, I separated the poses he originally made from the ones I had done for this side project and labeled them, though I probably could have been more clear on the palettes.

Besides, I’d rather give a bit more love to the work he had done and give the OG Bowser out of the Clown car more functional set of poses given the resources that exist given the Gigaleak showing a ton of unused content from Super Mario World helped craft these. It does justice given well, this shit sprite from Nintendo exists:

WIP of a retake of a pokemon that happens to be my forever favorite.

CLOSELY using Dark Espeon as a reference from the TCG because the shading and pose are worth studying from my angle.

Update as I decided to do a whole retake on said reference to espeon card instead of just the character

I very much keep forgetting I have an art thread that isn't intended just for mere sketchbook stuff and I think I found a reason to bump this again in light of me doing streaming and what not.iu_1520161_3993712.webp

Not exactly my sketchbook thread where I'm just making shitpost worthy doodles but for what it's worth I may have a use for this thread to have some of my WIP videos up and not just have them in their corresponding pieces? IDK.

A new WIP for pixel art related things, hoping to go for a Y2K Aesthetic.

Also, using my own colors since it's been a hot minute since I made my own palette. Would love some feedback on this.

(FYI if anyone has feedback, comments or criticism for me, please let me know because I would really appreciate if people gave me some tips here and there)

Update to what I've been working on from my last stream. Been experimenting a little bit with the pen pressure dithering in Aseprite so I wanted to give that a go.

This might end up being my thing to post for Pixel Day tbh.

iu_1526700_3993712.png

Sort of doing a bit of an experiment utilizing a posterization method from Krita that could basically turn down the amount of pixels that were in a thing, I took advantage of that using a little bit of photography on my part to make the GBA element and I'm hoping that the next step is to incorporate a totally different element in the screen of the GBA.

It's a bit on the experimental side but if I manage to pull this off it could be insanely interesting to pull off something different with a non traditional method of making pixel art applied with traditional methods of making it.iu_1526703_3993712.webp

Pic related using my own GBA with this.
