I have notice in the reboot that several characters of Ben 10 reboot changed to be more tech savvy that I suspect it is to be prepared doomsday device the annihalarrgh. Examples include: Frightwig, Gwen, Kevin, Vilgax, Phil Billings,  

This franchise is likely to be rebooted again. the second version earth/universe was possibly destroyed by a swarm of aliens called the Surge. Preparation could be socializing which was one omnitrix  This assumption is from Ben drinking smoothie and saying “It is not the same”

The cause of changes can be the two Gwens from the time travel episode. May as well use the time travels powers with subtly. Making Charmcaster as a fan girl was a nice try. I think it was Alien Force that Ben, Gwen and Keven died by their energy being drained so another thing they need to change. They were revived as they have several second chances from ultimate failures but an ally lost means less chance of stopping whatever going to destroy the universe.
