2023 Highlight - FuturecopLGF’s Favorite Games
I’ve recently been chatting with @GeoKureli, @Glaiel-Gamer, @Dungeonation and @FuturecopLGF about the potential of having a Game Awards on NG. As part of the process, we’ve started with a list of the top ~250 games of 2023.
@FuturecopLGF, known for his monthly videos where he plays every game on NG, has already gone through making note of his personal favorites. I’m using his “gold medal” list for today’s post!

Genokids is a game about MOTIVATION, a fast-paced hack & slash where a band of four musicians take down an alien invasion. This game was kinda slept on and took 13th in the Best of April, while meanwhile being #1 on Futurecop's April list.
Take on the robot hordes of Rushdown Rivals from a different perspective! Fight through the city streets in this hectic arcade shooter inspired by Time Crisis and House of the Dead! Rushdown Rivals Reloaded won first place in both the Best of May and Pico Day.
Pico's School meets Cuphead style combat in this tough-as-nails Boss Battle Frenzy featuring the classic Pico's School characters revamped in a brand new package! Pico's Boss Run won second place for Pico Day and fourth place for the Best of May.
Underboard: Omen is a roguelike autobattler about people appearing in a dangerous place. It took 7th in the Best of May and was #2 on Futurecop’s May list.

Paper Planet is a doodly, planet-defender, bullet hell roguelike with Flash-inspired visuals. If you enjoy this demo, buy Paper Planet on Steam! This placed 17th in the Best of August and forth on FutureCop’s list for the month. It also had an art contest!
Acro-bot is a 2d action-platformer with a focus on cool movement and simple visuals. It was made for Robot Day and placed second on FutureCop’s August list.

Lost For Swords is a Roguelike Deckbuilder, where the cards in your deck shape the rooms of the dungeon you’re exploring. It took fifth place in our Best of September

Can Hank defeat Tricky and AAHW agents while being half the man he once was? Madness SEVERED was created for Madness Day and placed seventh in the Best of September.
