Thank you everyone who turned up yesterday for our Eddsworld Charity Art Contest, celebrating Edd’s legacy and 20 years since his first upload on NG! Entries can be found via the Eddsworld20 tag.

We raised $1,230 for Young Lives vs Cancer and that donation has now been made. Thank you everyone who supported this event, whether it was with art, money or just spreading the word! Thank you @BadTwinZ for proposing this event!

Pico Day was May 6th and there is a near-endless amount of great Pico Day Art to explore!

@Nwilly shared some of the parts they worked on for the Tenacious D video, Video Games.

@Potatoman shared his work on the video, as well!

@ReThinkin posted their Shadow Wizard Money Gang piece on May 23rd, kicking off a new wave of fan art for the existing meme. Yes I love the shadow wizards.

@Snackers illustrated the promo art for the upcoming Toronto screening in July.

@QuoIsEternal produced beautiful key art for Bundle Beeline!

@CosmicFroggo shared new art of their Jet Set Radio OC, Keroshi.

@4WK rendered a subway scene that oozes with style.

@moawling continues making top pixel art, this time with fender bender.

@veryveryverysmall imagined some open world fantasy art with incredible clouds.

@Daydreamer94 constructed a Mario 64 globe.

@DigitalProdigy composed a haunting piece inspired by Dance by @Dahlia-K, for the Art Inspired Music Contest.

@CaperCube made energetic music for Package Man, a Ludum Dare Game Jam entry.

@FJOB created film-ready orchestral jazz.

I’ve been grooving to this one by @Gelainheim while hammering away at Nightmare Cops.

@Irish-Soul made a delightful tune for the Gelato Friends OST.

@NahuPyrope made a song about losing your mind, inspired by @A2Des’ piece Alone, for the Art Inspired Music Contest.

I listened to chronophobia by @deadman a bunch last month, it’s catchy!

I keep picturing the intro level to a game using @zenkusaa’s Luminescent Vortex.

Love the dissonant harmony of this one by Razencro. I picture bumping into a gang of strange characters in a video game while listening to this one.

@egguterra made a new vocaloid track that was quite the earworm.

@KrisSoap and @thiccburger teamed up on a song that’s a vibe.

This one by @LiftMusic is another I listened to a lot last month during game dev hours.

Closing Thoughts

Thank you everyone who made May special! Pico Day was a huge highlight of the month and we also got to see who won the Treasure Hunt and Flash Forward Jam.

Congratulations to all of the wonderful game developers this month: another great batch of games were made, and from so many fancy events and jams!

Always seriously impressed at how games can be made in such a small time frame: lord knows I can't do that and it makes it difficult for me to judge since I want to go easy on them given the context, but at the same time I've seen some jam games be even better than games that have been worked on for years, and this is Newgrounds after all, so I end up trying to treat them all fairly no matter what the circumstances (for better or for worse, haha!)

As usual I've got my top 10 and honorable mentions over here in my news posts if you're interested. While the winners this month were a lot of Pico games (and rightly so, some serious bangers there) be sure to check out some of these as well and show 'em some love!

The last 4 entries in the runner-up games, 27-30, weren't in the nominees list when I was voting. It looks like @FutureCopLGF had the same problem because the games weren't in his video. Do you know why that is?

My understanding is that the nominees are supposed to include everything frontpaged and everything that won a trophy like daily/weekly best, which would mean those games should be included since they all won trophies. It sounds like there's a faulty query that's only bringing in frontpaged games, and then the list you used here is generated by a different query that accounts for any trophy
