Closing Thoughts


In July we celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Newgrounds and itā€™s wild to think NG has been going for three decades now. Thank you everyone who made something to celebrate the occasion and it has been so much fun to see these immense projects come together!



There were lots of other phenomenal entries to enjoy in July and I added notes on a handful of runner-ups I particularly enjoyed, although everything in the above lists is great. I hope some day with more Supporters, we have more prize tiers so more favorites can win.


Development-wise, internal overhauls continued throughout July. We also finally switched back to HTTP/3, something we had first attempted last December but it had resulted in slow upload speeds at the time. Thatā€™s all been sorted out now and upload speeds might actually be better than before. Site performance all around improved in July, as well.

Kastozx is hosting a cookout in Fort Washington State Park, PA on August 30th.


DeuceLeGoose is hosting a meetup at Pinball Gallery in Malvern, PA on September 27th.


It was great seeing some of you at Short Short Fest in PA!

Robot Day is August 26th.

Congratulations to all the winners, and many thanks to all the game devs for another month packed with neat games! I absolutely agree that Pet.Net deserves a prize for not only nailing those classic NeoPets/Tamagotchi vibes, but having some great gameplay (the warioware game within it is great enough standalone to win a prize!) I'm glad to see it appreciated.



As Tom said, we had two fantastic SHMUPs this month for fans of those (like me), and they both accomplish their goals in different ways, with Cattle Crisis being a highly-condensed and explosive adrenaline rush and Newgrounds Virtuattack having a great sense of journey: so many interesting worlds, enemies, bosses and unlockables to see!



We also had a bunch of incredible demos for games that are either already on Steam or are coming out soon, so getcha wallets out for these ones: they're worth it! (or at least wishlist them)
