Closing Thoughts


Between Madness Day and new episodes of Monkey Wrench, Bridge Kids, Wigglewood Tales and the Sublo & Tangy Mustardverse, the final week of September was a real tour de force. Other things I loved in September included Online (All the Time), a new episode of Salad Fingers, new series Pop-Ocalypse and the Catatattack! DEMO.


We’re thankful for all the great uploads because September was a bumpy month, with a series of DDoS attacks, including the largest one in our history. This resulted in our new Guard Mode, that flashy screen you see at least once per day when visiting NG. It’s Halloween-themed at the moment with a spooky ghost.


We also introduced Age Verification in the UK, per the requirements of the UK Online Safety Act. Thank you everyone who has completed the process so far! We’ll be rolling this out in other required territories as more of our internal overhauls wrap up.

Another fantastic month of games! I was a bit late to get to the reviews (and I'm even still finishing writing all of them) but I had a blast as usual: congratulations to all the winners and all the game devs!


I'm glad to see a lot of my picks up in the top, but I'm really surprised to not see Catatattack! by @JalenBrah listed amongst them! As a beat-em-up fan who is very picky and hard to please, I was seriously impressed with the bombastic energy and the deep mechanics, meaning it's got both style and substance in abundance. It's come a long way from its first demo way back in 2022: *sniff* they grow up so fast! Go check it out!



A couple of others I definitely want to give some more attention to are Drowning Cross by @origamiherogames for being a very authentic feeling old-school point-n-click adventure, Prune & Milo by @GrizzlyCogs for being a neat turn-based-Zelda-puzzle-adventure hybrid, and 3-Bit Explorer by @Fiddleling for being another entry into the fantastic Bit Explorer series!

September was a great month for uploads in general. Both between new originals and more familiar series getting new episodes.


This is also the first month where I decided to put everything I found cool into folders between everything interesting on the portal


My top 3 entries of this month are overall Bridge Kids 12 (probably my favorite series at this point), the new subpar girl Episode, and unleash the madness.


P.S.

Also it's nice to know that some of the movie entries I voted for ended up there 3/5, awesome stuff and loved the new salad fingers, the recent Episodes are seriously great (14 especially)

It seems that the past month was a successful one for internet and indie animation. Zeurel deservedly raised the bar with his sci-fi series, from the adventures of two bounty hunters to developing the lore and infrastructure of this universe. David Firth, in second place, maintains his form in building the horror and strangeness of his world. Nihaho and MikeCarf continue to demonstrate how to properly make a teen drama without artificial silliness. Aaron Long is not the worse, creating characters that are exaggerated and realistic at the same time, making it difficult to tell whether they're a parody or a true reflection of our reality. And then there's RebelTaxi, which, despite its flaws, brought its most stylish project to completion, capturing the Y2K atmosphere in its glory. Congratulations to everyone else. Newgrounds has recently become a benchmark for quality, despite 30 year history and Youtube as a rival. Perhaps in the future, some talented madmen will join forces to create a full animated adaptation of this site.

Personal Favourite Movie: PRETTY KITTY!! (@CoreyBeepington, 9th place)

Nightmarish mixed-media visuals, plus a hefty dose of realism induced horror, made for a truly terrifying anim


Personal Favourite Game: Serving Up MADNESS! (@stitchmiss, @53xy83457, @PhantonArcade, 1st place)

Dead simple, arcadey fun, cooked to perfection with a side of fantastic art.

Personal Favourite Art was a seriously tough choice, but seeing this fantastic celebration of a legendary RPG took me back to my childhood.
