That's the thing. The term is getting more and more misattributed in bad faith. Here's an analogy. Imagine if people who simply love their country were starting to get lumped under the nazi umbrella. Yes, I know it's not that extreme but you get the idea.

Question!

Anyone else noticed this image of RenPy (web distribution) when loading games here?

I've looked only yesterday at her hands and saw different amount of fingers. The 1st instance of this image tracks somewhere 5 years back (at least from what I've dig out) and it could be the reason why AI gen had such rough start with generating hands ^^ (joke)

Now the real question: Under the rules we got here now, regarding AI asset usage in submission (movie/games portal), do you happen to know what is the line in sand for them to be flagged and deleted?

Let's theoretically assume: submission got all visuals generated by AI (backgrounds/characters/props), but human rigged and animated (something like Live2D or any other program that could create vector grid over raster graphic and manipulate it, not the frame by frame drawing kind), human voices commissioned from voice actors, music also made by human.

How such case would be considered? Anyone got experience with similar case? (or maybe came across this type of question in, let's say 'The Elite Guard Barracks' topic?[number of pages there just scares the living daylight out of me :D])

It's been discussed before, and in terms of games, it's allowed.

That's suboptimal but thanks for info nonetheless!

How is this movie still here????

Alex, I'm going to be real with you here.

You seriously need to stop asking a lot of these reactionary questions.

In this thread for every little thing that happened in it its almost like you want to keep stirring the pot when it doesn't need to be stirred any further. Tom already stated there was no rush for the movie to be deleted and it likely will be deleted soon.

From one user to another, No one is interested in how invested you are in the problems/dramas that happen.

Ah, shit. Another movie using AI.

If more AI enters Newgrounds I swear to God

This one is just shit about American politics as well

Reminder: This is NOT a brigading thread. So far it's just deja vu, antis being hostile, except now it comes AFTER we addressed these points in this thread, and many of them have been to this thread before, so what's the excuse this time?

I took the time to look through the movie to see which parts are AI and which parts are not. A mod could probably do a better job, but here's what I was able to dig up:

0:00- 0:41: Original, if not shitty PNGTuber-esque "animation", no AI in this section.

0:41-1:22: Third party footage from news, etc. not the creator's own work, with a generic title card in the last 3 seconds

1:22-2:12: Crappy animation, no lip syncing, girl voiced by text to speech.

|

Probably the bench background at 1:24 is AI, IDK.

2:12-6:53: More crappy animation. The MAGA hat, a generic copypasted asset, could be AI.

|

3:23: Stock music, could be Suno

6:53-10:14: Politicians use AI clones of their voices, backgrounds are AI. The table in the background, phone, and papers, are 100% meatbag slop.

|

7:40: A Secret Service agent is an AI asset, but the other characters are human-made.

|

8:56: AI image of shipping containers and tariffs and barricade tape

Screenshots for reference (suspected AI highlighted in red, human-made in green):

Overall, It's technically not majority use, and probably uses less AI than Dearest Friends, but it also animates less than DF. Both cartoons are definitely within the same camp, only that Agenda 47 does sometimes use an unfiltered human voice, and it seems like there's no piss-filter or language barrier here.

|

It just looks like you and 5+ other people (and hopefully not counting) want to jump on a bandwagon and lampoon someone with informal fallacies, and if anything, these pointless witchhunts should stop and I think is a greater problem than using AI at this capacity. They do nothing to ween the creator off AI, and it doesn't make you look open-minded. Use the flagging system and don't take matters in your own hands. I'm ashamed.

Look I'm going to be honest if this thread is going to keep getting bumped with attempted witch hunts and virtue signaling about how bad Ai is as opposed to any genuine discussion to the rules pertaining to Newgrounds regarding said submissions, or offer genuine support to the cause in removing Ai submissions from being allowed on the site all together, then why are we keeping this thread open?

It's to a point where this discussion is overstaying it's welcome if this is what it's going to come to and aside from a few points here and there that actually felt genuine regardless of people's stances, it's another thread with an echo chamber now.

EDIT: And yes, I'm aware that we could let the thread die but I have a feeling that isn't going to happen as long as the anti-ai crowd continues bringing up these submissions only to encourage people to keep zero bombing said submissions.

This is literally the third time it happened in this thread putting aside Dearest Friends.

The thread got bumped after a few days of inactivity around Halloween, then another similar movie got brought up.

Trust me, I'm trying my best to discuss that one logically, but at this point, it seems like many people here have learned nothing from the 15 pages of debate that stemmed from this thread. Some people still consider Agenda 47 and DF to both be "majority" AI.

|

IK Ewan, Anam, Simoes etc. are young and sometimes immature, but they don't have immunity. I think that kind of behaviour should be regulated, and I think the Review Guidelines should cover such a clause, if the existing rules don't already.

|

I will also add that Agenda 47 was released after the Movie Guidelines got updated to require disclosure, but they're not used here. If there's an issue with that movie, it's most likely stemming here, or for reasons outside of AI.

I didn't want to name drop at the risk of coming off salty and given the number of people in this thread who are acting a fool it's not going to benefit the point I'm trying to make if I did name drop people after the last few pages with people who had their egos threatened when pointing out where the heavy anti-ai crowd has their faults in the discourse.

At the same time, in addition to the users you mentioned making a witch hunt out of it I feel like that's what the thread has become as a result, not just with Agenda 47 but also with Teemorval's submission and one other one outside of the discussed few that got unpublished.

The only idea I can think of is that this thread be put out back with two bullets in it's head and another one gets made that actually lists a couple of ground rules for the thread so we don't have a repeat of what happened here. But I'm not sure how on board people would be with that.

Alright, so I checked the Agenda 47 abomination. Honestly? The occassional AI-made assets aren't the biggest problem. The whole thing is just unfunny and poorly made. And the fact that the main subject is US politics makes me cringe. Don't bother with it. Cast your sc0re and leave. :) Right? That's what I did. I get it why Drearest Friends was controversial, but this one isn't worth the talk.

We're slowly watching this meme become reality with this thread.

I really want this thread locked now.

I’ve been wanting to keep this thread up to keep discussing the issues with Ai. But there have been flame wars and witch hunting that I didn’t want to see on this thread. This thread was for discussing the issues with Ai in the Newgrounds portal and in general. Yes, I did link the video in question in the very first post and I did want I removed, but I never encouraged or condoned any witch-hunting or brigading.

I should have asked for this thread to be locked weeks ago after the argument that went on for so long to the point where the thread became irrelevant for a while until CrimsonKero and I tried to put an end to it a long with TurkeyOnAStick asking Olskoo (or PrinceMiniMod if you will) to micromanage the thread.

And the Movie that Ewan posted to the thread trying to get people to zero bomb it was the last straw.

I hope someone can make a better thread about Ai because this is a real issue that needs to be taken seriously. But it needs to be civil.

@Abdragon26 and @NeoundergroundEg16

I apologize for the harassment you both have gotten because of this thread. I should not have made this thread in the first place.

Some people made great points. But at this point we are repeating ourselves.

So @TurkeyOnAStick or @Olskoo please lock this thread.
