I was really into animation ( still am just not as much ) so I already had newgrounds then I learnt instruments really fast in really life and of course when I can’t play in real life I’d do it digitally so I figured I’d post on newgrounds, now my main thing is music, then I got scouted, then I got front paged, now I’m here trying to do more lol also

GGGEEEOOOMMEERTTTYYY DDASSSHHH

i just didn’t want to be annoying about it and public but oh well here I am now lol

i also already knew newgrounds from FNF, Eddsworld and geometry dash so that led me here

Mp3 is 90%-95% less data than wav but in blind tests 4/5 people thought mp3 "sounded better" than their high resolution alternatives. Take this data as you will ;]

RELATABLE.

Yes, I was the person on the forums asking “HOW DO I GET MY MOOSICS ON THE CUBEY GAME” and begging for scout, come at me bro

Tried doing this recently with hypno porn, found a discord that makes that kind of content and was like "pls use my slut music." Felt kind of gross after 48 hours of people sending me dick pics and begging for nudes but if someone out there gets accidentally hypnotized into liking my music it will all have been worth it.

quarl BandCamp

I used to upload my music elsewhere and kept getting into issues where I needed to pay in order to expand my account limits and all that jazz .. and I didn't really like doing the whole social media hassle just to get someone to click on things.

So when I looked into it, I realized you can just upload to Newgrounds and use that .. so Newgrounds has become a bit of a central hub for a lot of my work too.

I was 12 and discovering how accessible it was to make music, animations, program, etc. Was already a regular ng user. Wanted to put stuff up among my ng heroes, and maybe one day compare to them.

i love this place

*sigh*…..Geometry Dash……

SoundCloud is too slow. Also I saw that Newgrounds was connected to GD and went "hmmm.... I like GD.... I like music.... NG is related to both.... Perfect"

I was making music for a therapeutic release and thought, why not give these things a purpose since I prioritized doing all of this and put all the effort into it over the years, so why not let it be heard.

I found this website through one of @Waterflame’s songs… and eventually I found again on geometry dash, so said, WHY NOT, let’s start here! And now I’m the most popular explosive Newgrounds has ever known

I had a history of making music on music for the playstation, hundreds of tracks tbh.. then got fruity loops from a friend and wanted to actually be sharing my creations, that's how it started anyway.

Original, classical and retro videogame music composer. (No longer take project clients from newgrounds but if you need a track or two from what ive got pm me.)

i would lie if i say it wasn't because "Geometry Dash", i was drawing a picture in my mind when i would have my music in gd levels, and after 7 years... i wrote a song specifically for a gd level with legendary rating now lol

cuz i wanted to start making music because i was bored in lockdown

update: i used to suck at the beginning but nowadays i have evolved and improved my music, currently i'm working on a makina album under a separate alias!!!

As RobTop would say it, "Agreed."

I also thought about how rare it was to come across a stereotypical "band kid who likes weeb songs" that actually committed to playing those songs on their instrument, at least here in the AP. Yes, we have L-Mity and Jackadactle as pianists to name a few, and I also cannot give enough thanks to dj-Jo and razaplays for strengthening my inner Vocaloid fan.

In a way, I guess I made it as an ensousha, where one of my covers is found in almost 100 levels. I'm not the Suisei of clarinetists, but I guess that's something I'm proud the GD community appreciates.

It's me, Mashuu, the clarinetist from another dimension. This place feels familiar, even though I wasn't around here during its heyday.

Nice place to just chuck all your tracks. Bandcamp is for serious stuff like albums and soundtracks and SoundCloud's kinda ass.

i love music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love the reviewing process too. mostly, i want a place where i can put all of my little music bits and pieces without having to stress abt putting EVERYTHING on streaming lol!

I'm also currently working on a Mákina album and learning how to animate

it's really cool to have a site where i can connect with other artists and just release music with no pressure :> it just feels like a big cool community y'know? plus i can listen to other's people music easily and listen to new artists i might like

for me, newgrounds really feels like the 2000's - early 2010's internet i grew up with !! it's super nostalgic for me, and it feels like the last bastions of that internet in some way

geometry dash obviously

i just really loved making electronic music and music in general so I decided that ill try to upload here and somehow my music got whitelisted on GD so I am grateful for that

To get attention in GD community.

...3 years later and now I don't care as much, but still being a whitelisted artist and being able to see my new stuff downloadable in game feels good :)

For me this site it's just the place where art live.

As an amateur, i don't think to gain money or fame with my music (because suck). But i want to share my first steps. This site don't have algorithms, you don't get pay for nothing; that means that post here it's just for the pure love to share a piece of you to the world.

And not just that. If you want to become more recognized, you need to get involved with the community; that's a good motivation to meet more artist and discover new piece of art. With the time, that become a cycle.

Right now, I'm surfing the sea of unknowns!

Ease of upload, all I need is a picture and an mp3 file, unlike youtube where you HAVE to make a video one way or another, and I really didn't want to make TunesToTube uploads or something

Geometry dash and some artists inspired to upload

It was the only site i knew about that wasnt paywalled with something to post music.

Newgrounds feels like a place where different creative things just collide in good way: music, animation, games, all mixed together.

for people to use it for their own projects
