I dislike the fact they cuss like alot, an unreasonable amount. Yes this is a show primarily for adults, but making the shows humor mainly just cussing ruins the comedy and writing. Every show has the potential to be good, it just depends on the writing.
Why so many adult cartoons nowadays are cynical and mean spirited?

It may be a form of motivation. There could be echo that needs be addressed like the useless authority figure. To solve it may be undermining the problem or not make look it at relevancy if the problem could have been so solved easily. Like Lorax leaving a big pile of rocks with the word “UNLESS”.
Many adults can only engage with animation if it is coated in a thick layer of irony and "So above it all" attitude. Too afraid to feel something genuine.

Because they start off innocent, but break all the rules like saying profane swears, killing people, having sex, taking beer and drugs, commit suicide or genocide, go on wars, make obscene movies, books, and signs, and have fun with their body

Overcorrecting due to stigma of animation is for children, which still happens at this time. Either can be message/moral that has scarred society or simply petty disgust like a teenager or geezer.
Looking at pattern often with hippies and mascots. The too dumb jokes can be low hanging fruit they try to fill the minutes. They can be behind the times.
