Nah but that's fair! It's not for everyone to have goals set up this way, BUT not all goals necessarily need to be structured like this. Even if it's something small and general like "I want to have more fun with art", I think it's good to have at least some kind of goal to work towards

the biggest concern i have is that if i set a goal and talk about it,i'd end up ignoring it completely, like that thing where if you talk about something you just lose all motivation to do it

Definitely improving consistency and efficiency. I've been looking for an art style where I can get a lot of details but with less steps so I can get things done faster and crunch in more drawings in a shorter amount of time without compromising too much on quality. So far I found pixel art, using textured brushes, and painting (eliminating the lineart stage) to be somewhat effective, but I think I can do more.

If I get good enough, I want to work more on composition and make more fleshed out drawings with backgrounds. At least with graphic design inspired compositions if not the ones where you set a scene with a character in it. If I do get to the point where I am able to draw more scenic drawings, I want to incorporate more of what I learned from composing photographs into my art.

Time is a pretty big constraint for me these days so I'm going to be figuring out ways to work around that to not just increase my output but also to make more detailed work.

Finish 250 box thingy

Branch out from drawabox since thats basically the only "studying" I do

Draw more consistently/get a schedule/become more organized

Post more than once every two months

Make an animation (recently I've been making little gifs but eventually I wanna make a longer thing)

Git gud lol

Well, first I'd like to draw more stuff that's not meant for collabs. Nothing wrong with collabs, of course, they're very fun to participate in, but I want to start drawing things for me this time around and with no deadlines, y'know?

Secondly, I'd like to finally come up and draw my very own OC cuz WHY IS IT SO HARD TO COME UP WITH ONE??

SERIOUSLY, WHY AM I HAVING SO MUCH TROUBLE??

FUCK!

Response to What are your art goals for 2026? 2026-01-03 17:57:00

I want to focus more on my OCs and just improve my art in general... maybe do more complex poses and stuff...

I won't give up on my goal of drawing like Gachiakuta

General improvement for sure, but I want to draw a lot more for myself this year overall and to have a bit less shame with art. Drawing bad things to mess around, drawing things I think are appealing that may not fit the vision I think people have for me. Stuff like that.

Also I need to draw a lot more if I want to release my TTRPG this year, which is a larger goal.

2- draw at least 1 touhou character each month

3- focus more on ocs and creating more ocs

draw more in general, i've barely drawn these last few years TTwTT

  1. getting more exposure so i can reach to more people which i like their art as well
  2. improving in my art and start expanding my worldbuilding
  3. learn how to animate (which i began learning with rotoscoping on krita)
  4. maybe turning some of my art into posters and renders into stickers to give to people
  5. getting into more collabs

  1. have more finished pieces instead of like a character just kinda standing
  2. work on project
  3. be a cool and generous fella

get a load a this guy!

My only goal is to learn to enjoy the process of drawing. If I can achieve that this year, I think the rest will naturally follow.

I've always wanted to learn how to draw, but the actual process of learning is soul destroying. I would rather put a 9V on my tongue than sit through DrawABox's "draw 1000 boxes" exercises.

Every piece that I've made in a classroom setting has come out better than I anticipated. It's still terrible, but at least semi finished. But it just means that outside of an environment where I literally have no other option but to draw, I would rather give up and do something else instead.

Contrast that with programming / gamedev or something where - even though the luster has waned for me the past few years - I wanted to do nothing but that when I was first starting out. It was just that enchanting to me at the time.

I don't know how to cultivate that same sense of enthusiasm and wonder, but I know it's possible. I'd managed to do that when I was learning french and japanese, and both of those involved me attempting and giving up several times before having it finally click.

Honestly, it's just to get the hell out of the city. This life ain't for me. I grew up in mainly rural Alaska, I do not belong in urban Wisconsin.

1.Actually try to post more.

2.Try to participate in collabs, inktober, and more Art Fight

3.Try to experiment more with my art like colors, poses, etc.

I'm probably gonna fumble and fall off the deep end mid way through this year, but it's worth a shot.

  1. One unique piece every day (exceptions for family & friends and medical stuff)
  2. incorporate blender into my workflow
  3. one animated piece every month
  4. visualizers for my songs that don’t already have one
  5. learn to sculpt, rig and animate my OV/mascot for MVs

without each other, we are no one

This year I want to make much more art, and post more of it to Newgrounds. My goal is simply to improve as an artist, and to become more comfortable sharing my work online.

I would also like to focus on anatomy this year, it's a big limiting factor for me right now.

just draw and draw

The absolute minimum goal for me to achieve this year is to draw and publish (here) one chapter of a comic I've had in mind for a long time

Anything else beyond that is...

1- Learn how to use Blender.

2- Learning to program games

3- Improve in various aspects

4- Draw as much as possible

Response to What are your art goals for 2026? 2026-01-04 06:44:49

I want to publish a drawing, regardless if is a finished piece or a sketch, once a week on NG as a way to improve my techniques.

I wanna improve at art this year, learning from a book called "Keys to Drawing" by Bert Dodson.

Im currently waiting for it to arrive.

Response to What are your art goals for 2026? 2026-01-04 10:02:23

Gonna sound a bit boring here, I don’t really know. I can work on backgrounds and 3D space more. But honestly, finding the motivation to draw would be the big one. If anyone got some suggestions or even critique feel free to message me. For now I’m gonna beat my damn cold lol.

I feel like I'm starting to get gesture and figure drawing down so now I want to move to larger drawing projects like full scenes, show more action and characters on a bigger canvas.

But for certain, gonna take another crack at drawing digitally and work on some pieces that make use of the tools available in Krita (or I'll just move to IbisPaint).

Either way, this year will be all about learning to use all the tools in my art studio, which means:

>Graphite Pencils

>Colored Pencils

>Oil Pastels

>Acrylics

>Watercolor

>Charcoal

>Krita

>Brush Pens

>Macron Pens

I definitly ignored what i loved and just did a lot and a lot of exercises in my own bubble. I didn't do many pieces for myself or others and, to be honest, i didn't have a lot of fun this past few years. SO, for this year, i relaunch the engine and go crazy with my project :

  • Star my animation project
  • Learn animating and modeling in blender
  • Do some crazy artwork with my own universe
  • create somes games and mods for Hytale when it's released

This year, I actually managed to make a resolution bingo chart for fun. More than half of it are art goals, I scratched out the more personal life related stuff.

iu_1518669_2903682.png

-a few of the boxes are projects I’m carrying over from last year ( MvC project, circle images, reference sheets, comedic comics)

-the oc tulpas are jokes (i feel like i should stress that for posterity) that I’m now realizing I wasted two boxes on.

Last year I spent alot of time outside of my comfort zone, I explored several different mediums of art and tried different styles. For 2026 I want to keep practicing what i know and master some of those mediums

For me, I think upholding consistent work is key. I managed to do this before but usually I crash for about 2-3 months (typically around Christmas time) and run out of energy, but I think that's more of a burnout thing. If I ever get the fortune of doing art full time one day, then I don't think it'd be an issue, but still.

My main two would be:

1) Uphold the evolution and refinement of my skills (Get more experimental with perspective, refine it)

2) Begin work on my first comic / manga or find a routinely way to work on art as a hobby alike to,,, well, work.

You must believe in the power of HARMONY!
