To actually start drawing again xD

But on a serious note, as a writer, I often find myself imagining my characters and then getting frustrated when they're stuck in my head. I know many of the fundamentals of art, but would love to reanalyze the process and get to the root of my creativity (even if it means starting "Draw a Box" again).

Plus one thing I want to do more is get involved in more collabs. Push myself artistically, try to step out of my comfort zone and draw new things (if you look at my profile, you'll see most of my 'best' art is centred around one specific OC). And as others have said, finish my pieces. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I've poured hours into an artwork only to then turn around and lose motivation because "it's not fun anymore"-- but finding a way to overcome that and push on with the journey, to finish what I started-- is the key.

I'm already taking steps towards these goals, having joined an AniJam with some friends through a shared Discord server, as well as being part of some collabs here on NG. It's gonna be a long process, and I'm sure there'll be days when it'll be a struggle to even look at my tablet. But as somebody much wiser than myself said;

"Make it exist first; make it good later".

Get better at digital art, or find a better art software to make stuff with

Finish a game which is robust enough to make some money on Steam. Something that can easily be referred to as a full game rather than the indie developer equivalent of a doodle. And a game with some merit, at that. Secondarily, I would like to add more to Newgrounds. At least one good finished piece per month, if I can manage it.

Master cartoon anatomy, and do so without advantage. To make art without advantage can allow me to enforce and back up any roast I make twards any competitor who claims superior virtue. I shall defy those who claim one can not appear from nothing. I shall strike fear in those who have learned art with logic and reason. I will learn art by mistake and by luck. Once I make a couple powerful drawings, I shall be seen as the ultimate interloper. This is a resolution that goes far beyond art. You ever felt the isolation of finding out the one has preformed better then you despite all obsticals that have stopped you? I wish to bring others that feeling of isolation so that all they see is the world I have shaped from my masochistic madness.

●To make something that really tugs at someone's heart strings. I'd love to hear that a work I made made someone cry.

●See improvement in my art.

●Becoming someone's favorite artist/animator.

●Inspiring someone to start their art journey.

●Push myself to my absolute limit.

I've only been doing this since October, but hey, newbie gainz are a thing for art too, right?

What are your goals this year? Please don’t say nothing or I’ll throw eggs at you, goals are good to have!!

To definitely to draw more, I wanna try at least create one full color piece for each month.

Another one is to finally selcet what kind of webcomic series I wanna make, I've did had a splatoon fanfic one, however I've recently started work on my own original universe one

I haven't really started yet, but at some point this year I'm considering dipping my toe into the loathsome and soul-deadening realm of public commissions to see if I still hate it as much as I used to. Partly to give myself a challenge and produce more work that I can post, partly so I can better advise others on it now that the world's been flip turned upside down. I think I'm losing touch and I'd like to un-lose it.

Ooh nice, commissions can be a double sided coin cause on one hand the deadlines give you that push to make more stuff, but also accepting too many adds a lot of pressure. I hope it all goes well!! If you can get a vgen inv tho that helps a LOT from what I've seen

The pressure I can handle, the blow to my ego when nobody commissions me, we'll see.

A major one is less art and more writing specific, but I'm hoping to make more progress on my stories and world so I finally have something big to share for that, instead of being kinda scattered and disorganized like it has been.

Besides that. More background practice, maybe taking a crack at a small comic or two, finishing up a bunch of refs i got in the pipeline, that kinda thing. I got a bunch of old pics that i recently updated to add some clean up and proper BG details.

That's on top of getting more active on socials and getting a slightly larger foothold.

I'm also considering NSFW but I'm still undecided on how to divide that one.

Improve my understanding of rendering, explore comic book paneling, try and apply to an aritst ally, it doesn't have to be big convention either.

Maybe yap more in lil bite sizes but I think I sorta do that already

Get into more 3d art so I can turn my concept art into actual 3d models. I at least got the general idea of the 3d pipeline my CG class taught me. I want to find small game dev groups to collab/work with who have similar interest in certain game genres. Looking into that. I do want to make an arpg with ps2 era graphics in the future or maybe quake 4. That's a far off goal idea that I'm not ready yet, but I will at least try to learn bits by bits of gamedev.
