Clockboy is in Trouble! The Clock on his head has broke and he has lost his Time. Help Clockboy retrieve bolts and go to the melding stations to fix his Clock.


Clockboy will reset 15 seconds back if you cant get to the stations in time, as if nothing happened. Being is such a rush, dangers are to arise. Be careful as you reach your Melding stations. There is only enough time to get 3 stations per area, get all the bolts you can!


Controls

  • Movement: WASD, ZQSD, or Arrow Keys
  • Select: Click
  • End Level: Backspace
  • Quick Level Reset: Enter

Escape the Rewind is a fun little platformer with inspiration from games like Super Mario Bros and Super Meat Boy. This game was made for a 2 week game jam called "Summer FlowJam 2020" by JR 01 and Baron Wasteland.


Since the Jam, I spent some time updating the movements, graphics, and settings to where I'm comfortable enough to show on Newgrounds. There might be a bonus collecting all the coins, I hope you enjoy the challenge!

Good fun game

I like the sprite elemenst in this A cool platformer game you have created here for us all to enjoy with a style all on its own and you made it look shiny with all the bells and whistles that make this game complete and it's those fine details that come alive in this platformer like the gameplay was pretty good things responded well and you have a nice theme going on so for me this was a fun platformer and just love the vibe and flavour of this game

you obviously didn't normalize velocity when jumping at an angle rofl. how could someone miss that?

in short, you jump diagonally at sqrt(2) times the velocity you should. it makes platforming very awkward and you're going to fix it and then reply to this review (or private message but i prefer a response here. my messages are already a very busy space and i have higher priority messages i need to address on a regular basis)

This was made in a 2 week game jam and the velocity is controlled by the x-axis only, the y is controlled by impulses. There is a max x velocity cap in the game, but it doesn't account for the physics drag which can create a slow-down when landing.

The game feels fine when I test it, the level designs are made around the mechanics I've made. If you're experiencing any trouble, I would suggest trying the downloadable version on itch.io

I´m sorry, wall jump don´t work for me, rendering the game unplayable since lvl1. Liked the art and all, but couldn´t play.

PS: I assure you, my PC doesn´t have resources issues. Nevertheless, it worked upon download. Changed rating

what a swag fucking game. truly a golden game for people who like high-speed precision platformers. the level design makes use of game mechanics to give players choices, which is SO COOL. aesthetics are pretty dope, with no shortage of cute pixel art. just,,, god-tier. bravo m8.

very fun game, its a neat little platformer with a somewhat "unique" idea. the "gear grinder" (what im going to call it) dont move/spin which is rather odd.

Do you mean the background art? The gears on the level complete should spin.
A simple background art was easy to do for the game jam, but a fully live background would be nice if I return to this project.
