[ Developed for the GDevelop 6th BIG Game Jam - Multiplayer Edition ]

The Clock Tower has stopped working and all of mankind appears to be stuck in time! It's up to our Robot friends to fix it and save us. Work together in this 2-4 Player Online Co-op Adventure as the Robots to save all of mankind!

Scope creep definitely got to me in this jam. I started working on this from Saturday Nov 2nd full-time until today, Sunday Nov 10. I hope you enjoy!

In case of any disconnects, keep in-mind the host keeps level progress!

[KNOWN ISSUES]

- If the connection isn't good enough between host and players, the game breaks very easily. If playing with a group, choose the player who lives closest to everyone as the host to avoid this!

- Player windup animations aren't synced properly / other player's animation doesn't play

- Player collision is sometimes very strange

[CONTROLS] (keyboard)

- Arrow Keys to move (alt: WASD)

- Space bar to wind up

- Z to throw / grab objects (alt: mouse left-click)

- X to put object down (alt: mouse right-click)

- C to call for help

- Escape to pause (alt: Enter)

It seems like a cute game so I tried my best to get a partner to play this, but unfortunately wasn't able to get anything done. First few attempts had us getting consistently disconnected after 10 seconds or so, not able to make any meaningful progress. Our next few attempts had us trying a VPN to put us both in the USA, and while that solved the disconnection issues, it introduced so many bizarre desyncing issues and lag that the game was unplayable. Oh well!

To be fair, it's a game jam game so you were under some strict limits, and me and my partner were separated by a considerable distance so it wasn't ideal conditions for a solid connection, but still, yeah, was a bummer! I love the idea of a coop adventure though, so if you attempt something like this again, I'd be down for it!

i cant fault the game for not having players, i ended up playing a lobby by myself. some challenges required both players moving at the same time, which i cant do with two game windows open

No local multiplayer, only 1 lobby, but that doesn't matter because no one else is online.

The game mechanics are pretty simple, and the puzzles aren't very hard, but it's fun the play this game with a friend.

I love how the game was built with multiple players in mind, and that you do really need the other players to get through most of the puzzles. Some puzzles require you to crank up a friend to give them a speed boost, so they can get across a timed platform or around a moving obstacle.
