One of my new favourites is Kenji Kaneko:
Have a strange songs structures, and his instrumentation is a weird, nice mix.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth 1 OST-Track 08- One, Two, Three
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth 1 OST-Track 13- Nepgear's Theme (V Version)
Ryota Kozuka:
Shin Megami Tensei IV OST - Battle B2 - (Boss Battle Theme)
Shin Megami Tensei IV OST - Battle A2 - (Tokyo Battle)
And another composer of SMT IV, Toshiki Konishi:
I start making music the last year. Because i wanted to help my bro to make a game, and my first try was an abominable soundscape directly from hell. So i study, and the music pass to evolved to just be an aberration; literally i called my first tracks 'Aberration 1, Aberration 2, etc.'
After months, the art of the game change to be more retro, and i was feeling that the music don't transmit that. So i start making Chiptune, and was better that my last creations. So i think of shared my work to see if somebody likes it. And i need a name, and i make aberrations, my first work shared with the world was going to be a chiptune; and i'm not an instrumentalist. So all my music is digitally, MIDI 100%... AberraByte, can transmit my style of music.
Now the 'zombie' part come because i lost the AberraByte original account xd, so now this new account is the return of the grave.
For me this site it's just the place where art live.
As an amateur, i don't think to gain money or fame with my music (because suck). But i want to share my first steps. This site don't have algorithms, you don't get pay for nothing; that means that post here it's just for the pure love to share a piece of you to the world.
And not just that. If you want to become more recognized, you need to get involved with the community; that's a good motivation to meet more artist and discover new piece of art. With the time, that become a cycle.
Ok, the thing is, i like the blog/page of Composer Code made by Matt.
And one of his post is about Chord Progressions, a theme that scared me the first time i study music theory. And now it still scares me, because i don't really understand how to use it properly. I mean, i don't want to just test it, i want to understand the 'mechanism' of the chords.
And that's the reason for this topic. I want to hear what your favorite progressions are, what you feel about them, and how you use them.
Amazing! I love chiptune, but i have a question: for participate you need to be scouted or not?
Hear this! It's one my favorites.
