Emotes used for post moods? It would be fun to see more packs sometime down the line!
One of the issues here is that each set loads as an entire sprite sheet and now that emotes have changed to a higher source resolution, those sheets have gotten considerable bigger. It might be better to load them as individual images, so that we don't have to load an entire sheet for a single emote on the page.
I think that would definitely be the way to go. In most places on the site, the majority of the main sheet doesn't even get used due to the limited set of reaction emotes.
...wow, while writing this, I also realized that the 'no emote' image is also part of the main sheet. That's currently being used in every emote set!

As someone who frequents smaller websites like forums, this sudden push by lawmakers of putting the burden of online safety enforcement almost entirely on these communities is really depressing. I've already seen a lot of forums either close off UK access (the forums for a game mod I work on had to do this, unfortunately alienating an entire part of the community) or even shutter completely. It's just not sustainable.
That said, you guys are going above and beyond with these safety changes. The backend refactoring that's been a result of it has been very cool to hear about, too.
If you happen to be reading this and aren't a Newgrounds Supporter already, I'd highly recommend throwing them some coin. A monthly subscription costs less than a fast food meal.
Found this gem in the Under Judgement section
Congrats to each and every one! So excited to have our game hit 3rd place–thanks to all the voters, and good picks all around!

Hate to necro, but he actually does work for Unity (the game engine) now, working on machine learning. Really cool stuff!
Awesome, thanks to both of you for your help!
Hi, I just bought a few "Trophy Hunter" upgrades on the support page. From the looks of it, I have the 2018-2021 badges. Do these badges expire?
(I love the site and badges are cool)
