Same deal as modern photography. Don't put that on Newgrounds unless you've created an original sculpture or painting that you're taking a photo of.
Tom. Was just touching up this guy's Wikigrounds page when I noticed something
He made a site art that was used ~November 3rd 2021 as per this snapshot, but I don't see it in I-Bot's playlist.
Two bits of news as of now:
1) it was 42 degrees (Celsius, or 107 Farenheit) outside, so I'm just leaving myself to rot without shaving, dressing, or otherwise presenting fem. Just until the heat goes back down.

2) Before that, I was doing better during the latter half of 2025. Figured myself out more (but it also created more moments of gender dysphoria and envy). I've tried different clothes, and small bits of makeup (mostly eyeliner and eyeshadow), leaning towards more red and black (evident by my sona, but irl too). But I realized that whether I present more fem or masc goes beyond clothes, now I'm dead set on always wanting look fem no matter what I wear.

Current subgoals now include laser hair removal (body + face), and HRT.

At what point did you switch to pixel art in your work, and would you revisit traditional animations in the future (similar to your older work)?

It's better. Great job, Brandy.
I think it's the lesser evil. It's still "in the spirit" of the uploader's intention but without the AI slop part and to be honest, it more clearly informs the watcher about the ironic nature of the short, hence the out of place 3D Knuckles in the foreground.

An "honest" thumbnail would look like this, but knowing Doctor Gordon, it was clearly used for bait and switch (and also because he said he was "lazy" in one of the replies).
On a related topic: I've always had a feeling that the Guidelines applied mainly to the submissions themselves and the only thing that applied to thumbnails is that you can't include nudity (unless rated A) and can't include illegal material like CSAM or bestiality. I might be wrong, or it might be an oversight in the rules.
I change misrepresenting bait-and-switch thumbnails all the time, i probably shouldnt, but when it's very clearly deceptive i do it with zero regrets. I hate AI thumbnails used in the audio portal, but tom allows it for now.
THE Portal? nah AI thumbnail gets no respect
https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/1013072

LIke this isn't misleading either.
Still, there is no clause that says that an icon moderator may do this. unless we had a separate set of thumbnail guidelines that should cover all Portals.

I would not reccommend this, at least not on its own. Instead, have both people create an account for themselves and have one co-author the other on any work they collaborate on.
I do know one example of something similar, GrillieStudios, but both users also have their own accounts.
Is this a bug?
Accounts that are deleted still show up on NG Stats (shown: medal rankings for friends.)

WE currently have around 8 people who appear to have dropped out without notice (plus a handful who have been given extensions and still haven't finished) and we already have a decent crew of substitute artists, so we're going to be pretty picky about who we take on.
The main requirement is going to be that you were a part of the event already. This way we know what group you were in and who you could potentially draw for. It also shows us you can finish an art piece. We would prefer to have people sub within the same group they submitted to, but a higher talent can also draw for one of the less seasoned groups as well.
The other thing will be how IMMEDIATELY available you are. If we can get some kick ass artists who can guarantee delivery before Christmas morning, they are going to get chosen first.
To apply, just reply here with what group you are in, how soon you can get started, and how soon you can finish. Keep an eye on your DMs as we'll be sending anyone we take on a link and instructions on what to do.
Silent Pink Knight. Working with Aussie time here, so a brief window in Christmas Eve, and maybe Boxing Day if I get up early.

I have 5 things to say about this, then I'll go, both regarding the game and the award in question.
1) I have not heard of Expedition 33 until after The Game Awards, despite it releasing months ago. I don't see what makes it so great that every other awards show would give it so many headpats.
2) From what I know, the Indie Game Awards are a relatively new offshoot award that has only been organized one other time in 2024. Whether you consider them to be the end all authority on what an indie game should be, or take them more seriously than the Game Awards proper, is a matter of opinion.
3) The actual AI usage. The only thing I've seen people talk about (aside from Mass Media reporting that one dinky ceremony for rescinding two awards) is the usage of placeholder textures, with all but a few being still left in the final game. Not the sounds, not the models, not the code, not the designs. Just textures as far as I'm aware, which they then patched them out days later.

The developers claimed to be against "creative" AI, which seems to mean they're fine with using it as placeholders.
I think we agree that when it comes to anything creative, our answer is essentially: "no." It's like taking away all the joy of creating a game. We love making games, we love creating. Creating is one of the most beautiful things people can do. So, when it comes to creation, our answer is a firm "no."
Nothing in the game will come from AI, we state this clearly, it's a firm "no" for us. Beyond that, I don't have a formed opinion: science, responsibility, process, and so on. It doesn't matter to me as long as it works, but when it comes to creative things and things that must come from the heart, for us, it means a definite "no."
|
I found a Steam discussion alleging 70% AI usage, but user opinions aren't exactly a credible source.
4) Even without considering the AI usage, E33 is NOT indie and you cannot convince me otherwise. If anything, it seems like an industry plant, actively trying to nominate itself into as many award ceremonies as possible. Indie Game Awards is more or less just one of many event they could've submitted themselves to and bag a few more awards for the prestiege.
5) Speaking of that representative. To me, seems like a fellow you shouldn' trust, but why? Either they were unaware about E33's history with AI and never double-checked with the developers, assumed that because assets were eventually patched out meant it was AI-free, without checking IGA's guidelines, or purposefully lied to IGA, hoping that they'd either forgotten the AI thing or never bother to do their own double-checking.
|
It's possible IGA themselves also had a hand in this incompetency, either they didn't bother to check either, or crazy wild theory, purposefully delayed their disqualification because this would then generate a more viral story for journalists to cover (I feel like they could've called them out earlier, but being a smaller organization, they need publicity.)

All I'll say, if it's mostly AI, then don't post it on the Portal. Produce your own music with FL Studio or some other DAW, and even then get permission for covers/remixes.

As I mentioned a few times already, unlike the other Portals, there are currently zero Game Guidelines against AI, only a general rule against shovelware and needing "personal pride", which could be interpreted as being anti-AI, but it's too subjective to be considered as such.
Note:

While there is disclosure (albeit a simple one), I will still note the game does seem to fall under shovelware, especially if it's trying to redirect the game off of Newgrounds and onto a paid version offsite.

I followed Kyle, aka Strat on Newgrounds approximately ~2-3 years ago, and I regret not listening to more of his music before his passing. My heart goes out to his family, friends (especially those in TBA), coworkers, and to his ~700 followers on NG.
Is it just me or is there zero wall art on A-rated works (no NSFW content in screenshot, just a thumbnail)

I can assure you, even those that aren't part of the fandom, or even outright hate Uma Musume should at the very least acknowledge that the franchise (and also Cygames themselves) is doing good in the realm of IRL horse racing in Japan, especially by making retired horsies' lives better though, which completely goes against PETA's narrative.
|
Not to mention, according to Silence Suzuka's owner (who also disavowed PETA), his real injury wasn't a compound fracture like what's portrayed by the animal-killing hypocrites (this is where the bone sticks out through the skin).
Plus, Cygames set rules on making fanart, prohibiting sexual, violent, or politically biased depictions of their characters, of which the last two definitely apply.

What I meant was that Spanish users (or users of other languages) could use external tools to translate classic Flash games while they play them. It may not be as efficient or accurate as curating a proper translation, but it's better than nothing.
