That lil paper moth is genuinely one of my favorites fr.
Literally the same thing I'm dealing with, so perfect thread lmao. Between here and BS I'm *thinking* of handling NSFW but it's mostly how to best organize it; in my case it's more since most of my stuff is SFW across both galleries that I'm not sure if I should make an alt or just jump in head on.
My turn.
Maybe not the best but the style I strive for nowadays is on the toony side; closer to a western cartoon with the thicker lining and the way the eyes are usually styled (though I experiment when dot eyes aren't the best). They're also ref pieces so maybe one of these days I can get a comic off the ground to compare.

An decent amount but to name a couple.
I grew up on early Youtube watching all manner of let's plays, we're talking EARLY early around 2006-2007. There's so many from that era that's completely lost, youtube archival is already kind of spotty but stuff like this is more or less completely gone. It's one of those where you feel cut off from nostalgia on account that it's completely gone in that sense. I got a small list on my end based on what I remember but it gets spottier each day.
Beyond that; another is a flash game by Nitrome of a game called Balloon Maker, a little applet that let you make custom balloons for one of your games. That's been gone since 2009 and the few traces of it left are a few screengrabs and a handful of videos, nothing else.
A major one is less art and more writing specific, but I'm hoping to make more progress on my stories and world so I finally have something big to share for that, instead of being kinda scattered and disorganized like it has been.
Besides that. More background practice, maybe taking a crack at a small comic or two, finishing up a bunch of refs i got in the pipeline, that kinda thing. I got a bunch of old pics that i recently updated to add some clean up and proper BG details.
That's on top of getting more active on socials and getting a slightly larger foothold.
I'm also considering NSFW but I'm still undecided on how to divide that one.
Couple more.
Lagolyn is a fella named Jonas Zamaki. His bloodline originates from the eastern Abberzan continent but that's a long story. He traverses the land as a member of Niska's gang of mercenaries, who often try their best.....well not dying for starters, followed by whatever their jobs are. They're usually in way over their heads and stumble into things most aren't prepared for.
He's a Lagolyn.....so no defense of any kind, however he IS armed with some weapons and can sorta hold his own provided he's dodgy enough. His signature skill is how technical he is, being the closest they get to an engineer and being fairly experienced with machines.
He's also more or less an old fashioned software style cracker with a dislike to corrupt authority and a desire for information to be free. So basically a pirate but in a different way lmao. He's not likely to hack you up for no reason but he will teach you a lesson in humility if you give him a reason to.
The robot lady is Cherry, who's already on the portal. She's one of eight constructs of enigmatic alien origin; potentially originating from the mysterious Nuo ring. She's significantly more advanced than anything else you easily find in most of Tanzanite and it's usually down to Jonas to be the one researching her. She's also the most flexible in terms of class depending on how you kit and maintain her, but she's never going to replace someone in the group. (Ex. An agility focused Cherry is never going to outspeed a Lagolyn)--

For monsters in particular I usually dislike when it's just "Human but X", like if your idea of a bug monster is just "what if they were a human but they had some bug traits". That feels kinda lame. Personally if I'm drawing monsters, I like to lean more into that; whether they're cute, hideous, cute in a slightly hideous way, or whatever varies but if they at least look distinct from just a human then that means I did my job. Even some of the human adjacent ones I like to at least attempt to play around with the designs with posture or features to really separate it.
This goes double if it's something science fiction, if all your aliens are indistinguishable from humans then I dunno, I don't really get into that.
Closest I got is a personal worldbuilding wiki for a lot of my stuff, which itself isn't hosted on my end on top of being more than a little rough on the edges. One of these days i'd like to self host that but networking and funds make that more than a little tricky, especially since it's not even finished quite yet.
Probably a strong creative bend. Been drawing for....I'd say the better part of 20 years, even when I was young I always tried drawing some wacky stories, but seeing people draw and build things with what they make is what inspired me to really kick it into high gear and get serious about it.
Some software is definitely better for some stuff in illustrations than others; but personally I think the biggest difference is how you use it.
One that helped a lot was keeping things simple. Drawing traditionally I had way too much crap that not only looked kinda iffy together, but was also essentially undrawable if I wanted to do it more than once; especially with the limits traditional imposses. Nowadays I try to have some form of cohesion and central focus so a character looks distinct without looking aimless, barring cases like Draknovi faction members who are supposed to look flashy and over the top.
That's more or less how I've done it on the few comics I've tried. Keeping things on different layers in general has saved me more time than I'd care to admit when mistakes crop up.
My current main place is mostly here. I got a couple of other platforms but those are still not as active since I'm still setting some of those up,. A couple accounts are also for some work unsafe stuff which I'm also debating on organizing. Besides that I also mostly post on a few Discord servers.

Newest one that I experimented a lot on. Tried my hand at some basic reflections, the environment going for a more Frutiger Aero look (the thematic being where the subtitle comes from), albeit doing that in 2D's not the easiest. It's also my first time drawing outer space given the setting. Probably not the best I can do but I like to think it's pretty decent for the first time I'm tackling any of em.
Species is a friends creation so I'm still waiting on them for managing credit.
One of these days I'll expand by bug bestiary but so far the only one with artwork is my big spider queen Charon and the moth species known as the Aleta..
Besides that, I got a LOT of em, including a species of slugs that live on Alanoth, a species of praying mantis that reside in the depths of the jungle, same with a set of giant bees. The Aero setting also comes with highlights like space cockroaches among other oddities; if you think it's a good idea to mess with a giant alien spider then boy do I have news for you..
Rarely are they anthro, and even the anthro ones like the Aleta and bee species still tend to be pretty buglike by preference.
From around 2024

To August of 2025

Not the most drastic improvement but I'd like to think it's still a tangible one.
More than a few, courses and backup work often being a distraction. I got several that are finished but still need to get around to posting at some point; writing lore for em tends to be the slow part. That doesn't even account for stuff I'm unsure even goes onto my main page.
It's on the simple side and I dunno how simple/detailed your hoping to reach, so best I can offer is some general advice.
Practice proportions. Yours is pretty decent for what it is but that's always something to work on depending on your style. Same thing with hands though I ain't the best with those myself, not much I can offer there lmao.
You probably don't need it for this piece but I'd also recommend giving shading a try, it'll help give your stuff that extra depth. How thick depends on the style, some like it light, I go for a comic style heavy shading, but that obviously differs by the artist.
Depends on the work, if it's something quick like a small mistake or some extra additions then I modify it, but if it's something that warrants a major overhaul then I post a new entry entirely. Don't like to flood my pages with repeats so I prefer not to make it a habit unless there's been a lot of time and/or some significant changes.
Through Newgrounds, none; granted I'm still on the smaller end and I don't have my comm info setup outside of one spot lol. On top of still trying to settle on some good prices ratios.
Outside that, a small handful of times but nothing reoccurring yet. Usually a couple of peeps I know elsewhere. One of these days I wouldn't mind getting some more in the future though comm work isn't even my main art project currently lmao.
Eldritch horror known as Alama. One of the eight demons that came from Ephialys; breaking into Alanoth during the first Blood Moon with everything that comes with.
Alama's noted as one of the worst of the eight, being less of a mindless beast and more of a calculative and sadistic creature who knows precisely how to break you in two. They're rarely a threat physically (albeit not a wimp) but they make up for it in other ways.
The base form is the eight headed eel monster while the Naga is her form as Kira, a creature living in Onyx Cove in southern Zaon. She's also noted as being the only traditional naga in Alanoth (discounting any homunculi she makes herself); since Alanoth Naga are just big snakes, so she's noted as being unusual and offputting in the context of the setting.
So yeah to say she's nasty as hell would be an understatement.
One decent one I remember from way back was Monster Tale.
Coursework and a few other distractions like backups tend to keep me busy more than I'd like, but usually I try to draw as much as I can whenever possible. If I got a commission then that's usually the focus to be timely while my other stuff varies depending on the project. Hoping things get more stable so I can get something consistent going but sometimes it's kinda tough.
Got way too many to share at once so I'll just start with one of my signatures. The Belleroses are a large family of Lagolyn that has presence throughout the entire continent spanning multiple generations. Being bunnies and being French are the two most common constants (and even then it slightly varies)
One's Cecile, a floaty wandering stylist who gets into a lot of adventure and a lot of trouble. Curious to a fault and lives in her own little world, but is intelligent and skilled at what she does.
Her other sister is Natalia, a baker who lives in the deserts. She's rude, she's crude, she's got a heck of an attitude, and she's armed to the teeth being proficient with bows and especially guns if she finds one. Fiercely protective of her loved ones and brutally honest, but not incapable of being cordial if you don't give her a good reason not to be.
This set has four siblings total, raised by Aimee who herself has a brother and sister.....Lagolyn families are huge.

Looking back I'm still surprised I managed to do a full world map lmao. Granted it took almost 2 years barring previous sketches but still.
I just realized cartographic drawings as an artstyle is hecking underrated and from what I've seen, it's also a dying skill due to the rise of technology, it's as underrated as technical drawings of machines. I love this!
My setting gets pretty wild with its biomes and landmasses, one of em's literally a glowing bioluminescent mushroom island; where it's permanently night too, so I decided to do it by hand for that one since that gave me way more options than you'd see with something like Inkarnate.
My current toolset is Krita with a drawing tablet, but before that I experimented with a few options like Firealpaca, I think Medibang, one time I experimented with Photoshop but between the learning curve, switching OS at the time, and Adobe...being Adobe, that was pretty shortlived, and that's on top of switching from a traditional style to digital. It had a bit of adjustments and sometimes I still look for ways to improve my workflow with Krita, but overall things are at least going smoother than ever before; at least when I'm not swamped by other stuff.
Figure I'd give making an art thread a shot. Might make it a dump of some artwork though since most of my stuff is Tales of Tanzanite; I'm gonna try to favor that more. Also a SFW thread since I'm still trying to grapple with organizing the work unsafe stuff. I'm also gonna try to keep it as current as I can though coursework hits me like a hammer so that's something I gotta deal with.
The Bellerose Family
Aimee
Ines
Cecile
Natalia
Suzanne:
Adeline (From 2024)
Minte the Clown
There's more than just these lot since they're the biggest family in the whole continent; they're bunnies so...yknow. But this one's the immediate set circa 1256 barring a few. The main constants among em are they're Lagolyn and they're usually some form of French.
If anyone's got any questions feel free to ask em; I got an absurd amount of lore while having the worst organization imaginable so I'm gonna try my best with that lmao.
Looking back I'm still surprised I managed to do a full world map lmao. Granted it took almost 2 years barring previous sketches but still.
Nothing I got goes above 4 votes, but since I can't just send my entire gallery I'll just send some highlights.
Map
Some of my roster:
Now I'm not a shipper by nature but I got a couple pairings in my setting, one of those where less is more and focuses on stronger specific pairings.
Cecile x Maurine

Aimee x Delphine; and with artwork too, the four Bellerose siblings have two moms so that's these two.
Natalia's not paired with anyone in particular but she's close with some like Lavernia and Banou, good as it really gets for Nat.
Jonas x Nana
Beatrice x Kass
Zen x Morma are a more villainous pairing since those two are real close while also terrorizing the populace of Elyoria lmao.
There's a few more but usually I don't write a lotta pairings unless they're already kinda close or else has it be more believable.
