Response to: Drawn anything recently? Posted January 18th, 2026 in Art

I've been doing a lot of artwork for a NG forum art challenge and it's really fun and has allowed me to kick start 2026 doing way more finished drawings than usual tho also I feel the first few doodles I did before the challenge have been pushed under a bit when I think they're also pretty good

Originally i was gonna skip this one cause I interpreted Edgy to mean adult or provakative and I wasn't gonna do that to the underage Blair, but then I did more soul searching and realized edgy could also be grunge so I went back to a concept I had of an ouftit Blair would wear at Age 17

As a bonus the original doodle I did of them in this outfit cause I like the punchline

I didn't really know what to do initially for this, then I thought "Blair probably like rabbits so screw it"

Yea that's about that for this. Still had fun drawing them as a different species tho

'Meet Blair' Episode 1: Aftermath Script Posted January 15th, 2026 in Writing

CW: Mental Health / references to Suicide

For a bit of context; last year I made a suicide prevention short film as a school project and got wayyy to into it to the point I'm still developing the characters that I introduced in the original film.

The short film (retroactively named 'Attempt') can be viewed here:

Recently out of bordem I decided to try and write a script for a potential Episode 1 that takes place after the events of Attempt. I guess this would be considered a proper pilot. Eventually I would love to make this into a full show with like 13 episodes for a first season but obv I'm in no position to even think about doing that so for now I'm more focusing on learning how to write proper stories and hone in on my art as well as build up connections and influence online for the day where I can fully commit to Meet Blair

I debated storyboarding this but I didn't feel like my art skills are at a point where I could fully storyboard a 11 or so minute episode so I decided to try script driven which I found to be rather pleasant since it gave me the opportunity to describe how shots look in my head without worrying about needing to figure out exactly how to draw it. Saying that there are a few sketches in the script mostly included cause I doodled them a few months before I began writing and decided to throw them in.

I'm overall pretty happy with the script though I also want to see what others who have never heard of a Blair before have to say about it. This is my first time properly writing a script for a "full episode" of a show that isn't a short film or a review of a piece of a media. The main issue I currently have with the script is I believe some of the dialogue is clunky or cringe but I'm sure I'll get better at that the more I try to write dialogue.

Anyway the script is below, let me know what you think!

iu_1525337_8214541.webp

Something this challenge has enabled me to do is finally draw ideas I've had in my head. For this specifically it's giving Blair yellow gloves. I wanted to test out having a texture over them tho i think next time I'll try a different color or texture lol

Tho before I leave you I will throw yall a bone and do a bonus doodle

iu_1525338_8214541.png

Blair stole the beanie and jacket from their friend Sam (I'll draw him on Number 15 tho if you want to see him now check the art section on my profile 👀)

5. Patriotic

Had to really think about this, Blair's 15 so they wouldn't be overtly patriotic over America so what would be something they enjoy

hmmmmmm

iu_1524790_8214541.webp

I came up with the idea that Blair got a 2DS the year it came out (2013) simply because the price was much more appealing (and affordable) for their parents. It also suits em

For context the series where Blair originates from takes place in 2016

But yea Blair's very lowkey when it comes to who they rep, they'll never be super outwardly patriotic, just a more casual offhanded mention plus maybe one piece of merch if they like it enough

4. Drunk

iu_1523949_8214541.webp

Now I have a confession, this drawing isn't new. I made it a few months ago but never shared it online

How do I make up for this...

I GOT IT

iu_1523950_8214541.gif

I've had this idea in my head for months and it's very wonky (I woke up an hour ago and immediately began work) but I think it only adds to the drunken nature of it.

I personally love it

All I ask is for you to forget Blair's 15

Anyhoo link below if u wanna give it 5 Stars!

My goal is not to divert this conversation, but to give a link to the one place where this has been discussed in detail.

ironically that thread is what inspired me to make this one lol. I wanted to see what people in NG thought of is since by this point the Adobe one kind of ran it's course with the latest ones going "yep...still nothing"

It is fascinating reading the rest of your post and I do agree that they're probably trying to slowly kill it.

Adobe Animate 2026 (or lack thereof) Posted January 13th, 2026 in Animation

Off the bat idrk if this belongs in this specific thread persay but it is relating to Animation and I'd say if you're browsing this forum chances are you are familiar with Adobe and Adobe Animate (hell some of you probably still use Flash, I know I do)

Anyway this topic is about Adobe Animate and how we have entered 2026 and despite Adobe announcing and rolling out their Creative Cloud yearly updates Animate has once again been excluded (minus minor bug fixes). This is now the second year in which Animate hasn't gotten a major release, still being on Version 24.

Ffs it was one of the only Creative Cloud apps to not even be given a redesigned splashscren

iu_1523720_8214541.webp

This is mostly a thread to debate and discuss this. Speculate on what this means for the future of Animate. Adobe has been ignoring Animate for a while, if you go their products line on their website it is at the very bottom right next to Bridge and Audition before the 'See More' button. During Adobe Max it wasn't mentioned or referenced. While the other apps like Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and more are spotlighted Animate has been largely ignored which is odd to say the least.

I personally wouldn't be surprised if Animate is silently discontinued which would suck considering how influential Flash was to the internet but also Animate has been lagging behind the competition for years and still has it's fair share of issues that weren't addressed even when it was being focused on. However I also wanna see others opinions, what they think about this. With how Adobe has been seemingly radio silent this could really go either way. Who knows maybe Animate 2027 will change the game and become the best piece of animation software ever

god i hate using uNaLiVe it makes my skin crawl but this forum is about describing the story poorly and that's the only thing I can think of to make it sound as bad as possible

Anyway here's a short film that goes a little bit more in depth, and if you can get past the clunky animation I still post art about them, and some of it is good!:

I technically had a similar drawing I could have used (linked below) but not only do I want to actually draw something new for these but also I didn't like the other one lol. This one is also a bit iffy I'll be honest but at least Blair's eating something good like a bagel and not mystery sandwich with some lettuce poking out lmao

Oh yea I've also started to post these on NG if anyone cares, I'll include links to my posts starting tomorrow

Also if OP wants I could tag them under something like OC Prompt Challenge or OC Challenge 2026 so anyone else who posts them separately will be linked together! Just an idea tho :P

For a better idea of Blair in their swimsuit I did draw these 3 doodles last summer (sunscreen's my favorite)

The opposite gender is contradictory for me considering Blair's nonbinary but I think it's funny to do Number 1 anyway but only change minor aspects like turning the hoodie into a jacket while still keeping them ambiguous lmaoiu_1522363_8214541.webp

At 10/15/25 10:58 AM, ngjoselito wrote:I want to change the FPS in Adobe Animate. What FPS should I use for smooth animation?

24 is the standard but I will say you really don't need a high framerate to achieve "smooth animation". If you know what ur doing and how to utilize every frame you can make anything smooth on any framerate. For example Aimkid makes videos that are buttery smooth and she animates at 18fps. So as long as you know what you're doing and how to make every frame count you can make it as smooth as you need :)
