For me, it's this.
I know it's a video, but it's an artistic vision, and therefore counts as art.

Just finding and/or discovering any kind of lost media that has been either forgotten or undiscovered yet is enough to keep me interested. I’d love to be the one to find and recover something that was thought to be lost in the sands of time.

Hey, Newgrounders! Happy New Year’s Eve! Let’s all remember to take the time to not only improve ourselves, but also to make it a good year for those around us. Anyways, welcome to the forum for the Parappa The Rapper Art Collab!

I want to host an art-collab, because I have participated in lots of them and it inspires me to give it a shot. I’ve had lots of great ideas for collabs, but they would be too big to manage, so I want to start with something smaller. I know I should’ve waited until the end of 2026 for Parappa The Rapper’s 30th Anniversary (the first release being from Japan), but oh well.

INSTRUCTIONS/RULES:

Both scouted and unscouted users can join. Although, please try your best.

Follow the art portal guidelines properly. No A.I.-generated pieces, no tracing, no hate-art, and at least have common-sense.

Draw me some Parappa characters in full-body; it doesn’t matter if they're from all the games, made one appearance, or an anime exclusive character. Here are the character sections for the Parappa Wiki down below. There might be more characters, but these are the two best pages I could find.
https://parappatherapper.fandom.com/wiki/Characters

https://parappatherapper.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Characters

Let me know one or two characters that you want to draw (via the comments), and I’ll add your username to the list. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TcSviYSoGZVRCJ5lh_yDhIjR7HH5lpdstUNpcO3Zeqs/edit?usp=drivesdk

You can do up to 2 characters, and every character will have 5 entries each. Be sure to check the list before participating; if a character has 5 usernames next to them, you’ll have to choose someone else. I get that most people want to draw Parappa, Sunny, Katy and Lammy, but let’s give every character some love and representation.

Have the piece be a transparent PNG with no background (we want just the figure), and have the canvas size be 1,080 by 1,080 pixels. It saves data while also giving us HD results.

You can do a larger canvas if you’re more comfortable with that, but keep in mind that the drawing will be resized. You can also leave the background white if a transparent PNG is not possible on your end.

This collab will be rated E for everyone, so no middle-finger gestures, nudity, or any offensive/mature content; keep it family-friendly.

No shipping, because I don’t want any shipping-wars in the comments, even if the ship is legal or official. I also don’t want any participants to get harassed.

You can post the image with the file-dump link (or whatever file-sharing application you use) via this forum, or via my Newgrounds or Discord DMs. However, if you choose the DMs route, my rules for them still apply, because I don’t want myself or others to get in trouble, so please respect my boundaries. Hopefully, I also don’t have to make a new account for the file-sharing tool or application you use.

If you want, you can also choose a character from Jung Rhythm; SEGA’s answer to Parappa The Rapper. https://sega.fandom.com/wiki/Jung_Rhythm Even though it says: “Non-Sega Games” on top, the game wasn’t released on any other console. I may have Parappa fans mad at me because of this, but please hear me out.

While there’s plenty of Parappa characters, I’m not sure if there’s enough for all of us to work with, so I’m leaving Jung Rhythm characters as an option too. Keep in mind, some of the Jung Rhythm characters have designs that would not fly today, so be careful; see if you can make a modern interpretation. If you want to see Jung Rhythm gameplay, here is the best video I can find:
https://youtu.be/8i27oAWqHxQ?si=TsYYEwMCKBxWl3_D

If I respond to your request for 1 or 2 characters with a smiling emoji, your username is added to the chart. If I respond to your drawing(s) with a smiling emoji, that means the submission is approved and on the canvas.

The deadline for the collab will be March 5th, 2026. If you guys have any questions, comments, or concerns, please let me know. I’m not sure how big this art collab will be, but we’ll see.

I’d like to see a Jurassic Park survival horror game. It would probably be more violent than the movies and would probably have more of a feel similar to the novel (which I haven’t read) and maybe be very similar to Dino Crisis.

Response to: Agh, I'm finally done with Alundra!! Posted December 15th, 2025 in Video Games

At 12/14/25 10:21 PM, OviManic wrote:And by done, I mean I've finished it!

This game is stupid hard and stupid broken! This feels like a game that was made by rejected Zelda developers and it's more like an outcry they can make a BETTER Zelda game with blackjack and hookers. This titular character, Alundra, has similar moves to Link except running is a button prompt on its own and Alundra can jump. At first you would think, "holy cow, Zelda but with platforming elements!? Wow!"; but as you play... you'll begin to understand why Nintendo wasn't too aggressive with platforming in Zelda until much later.

Depth is not this game's strong suit. You'll end up attempting to undershoot or overshoot platforms because the floor tiles ahead are often the exact same as the tiles you are standing. Mostly, this depth issue would've reared its ugly head once or twice throughout such a polished-looking game: this issue begins rather early in the game and stays prevalent until the final dungeon. It's gonna be misplaced jump after misplaced jump for most of the dungeon crawling and many of the puzzle rooms.

When it comes to combat, it's feasible; however, Alundra always has paper skin regardless of how much health you have total. Some enemies just happen to have attacks that's able to wipe a quarter of your total health from the very start with room hazards capable to getting rid of half for just touching them. Well sure, you can "avoid" getting hit but those things, BUT THEN you realize Alundra is a bit "fatter" than you might expect. It came to my attention that drop shadow below Alundra is actually his hurtbox and a BIG one at that! You have to be incredibly distant when near a hazard: like two tiles away from your drop shadow in order to not get hit. Bring the game's poor depth into the picture, you'll end up hitting hazards that are actually closer than you'd expect because the devs decided to 'levitate' said hazards for no reason!

Lastly are the puzzles... I DARE you to beat the game without a guide! If you have played Super Metroid, you might have seen the one invisible path in Norfair that cheesed off Videogamedunkey to the point of him hating the game altogether. This game has that "figure it out" jank in spades INCLUDING the visible paths! And it doesn't end there. This game LOVES to waste your time whenever you fail a puzzle room despite the game's less than intuitive movement controls. If you break a barrel, or misinputed a button sequence, you must leave the room to reset everything: one case, a room reset could last more than a minute! This game definitely feels sadistic which is funny because it's really undeserved for being such an obscure title.

The writing, despite it being more serious in tone than a Zelda game, is uncharacteristically immature in many cases. It has that modern Joss Whedon style writing despite the game being released in 1997. You know, that 'nudge-nudge', 'wink-wink' writing that gives the illusion that the story is super witty? There are a ton of deaths in this game, but how the characters talk at times sound like they've just got out of acting school!

...The animated ending is good though. Yes, the graphics are excellent. Some of the bosses, although bullshit in many cases, are still feasible so long as you understand the magic system. The soundtrack is alright but there are a few bangers: especially the town theme. Overall, it was an... experience and I may never play it again.

According to a Top Hardest PS1 Games video Alundra was ranked #1 as the hardest game on the PS1. While Rayman was ranked #2.

Ideally it would be one with just a light and heavy punch & kick cos when there's a middle one the heavies are pushed to the triggers of a controller which is really annoying but if the game is good enough I can give it a shot, cause I know most fighting games do that. I also have already tried Skullgirls and did not like it.

As someone who has a weak spot for fighting games, I just say if you have the console it’s on and if you like fighting games I say just get any of the games available for the console no matter what the reviews say. You might find something enjoyable about them.
