i had already come to the conclusion it really is just better to bite the bullet and learn davinci when making that post. it's free and it works. any other free editing software i've tried out beforehand had been a pain to use, too limited, had unremovable watermarks, or suffered from enshittification.

it's always been hard to find good free editing software (it's why everyone pirates vegas and premiere lol)

anyway in conclusion the real enemy is capcut. fuck bytedance for paywalling every basic feature that used to be free.

i usually make short one panel stuff so slapping shit down in mspaint before i forget is what works best for me, but i'm trying to break out of that habit since i want to create more longform comics. shits a pain in the ass for more than 2 pages.

what helped me was keeping a sketchbook where i'm only allowed to draw bullshit in marker

just slap something down and not think about it, really helped my line confidence

i usually doodle traditionally nowadays with marker since i get too honed in on a single sketch n erase a lot, trying to break that habit
