And what if that's not how you want to remember your pet? Then don't even sweat it! This is completely optional, and you are more than welcome to draw your pet, past or present, however you'd like them to be remembered. If you do choose to put a halo on your pet, it does not need to have a black outline around it or be directly connected to the pet's head, though a white outline for contrast is recommended!

Bonus WIP + the photo reference I worked off of. He was anticipating walkies in that image so he was sitting politely and smiling at me like the little potato he is (he's a little skinnier now because I had him dieting a bit. Now he has a waist again).
