If it's working properly it should be a rolling feature.

That's a shame. I used to use NG to share WIPs between friends but now that's another cool NG feature that died.
I filed a ticket for this.

September 2024 is when I get some more sponsors onboard for the monthly prizes (announcement post).
I should try chasing down more, just not sure who is comfortable with $100+ per month and I feel uncomfortable asking.

How it's judged may vary based on the individual piece and how "pixel art" it feels, where 3D might be ok on Pixel Day but may be best for Low Poly Day.

just checking in case i'm misunderstanding here. i'm saying these 3 are actually working, and so are their medals.
the broken ones are the leftover games from my previous post a couple pages back in the thread (although some of those already got their broken medals removed so they're technically fixed, as well).
their medals probably work but the games themselves don't, so it's not exactly an issue of "broken medals" as much as them being impossible to obtain
Oh whoops, I did totally mis-read that!

exhuming this post yet again to mention that 3 of the games i listed back then as "not working" are now working normally, and all their medals are thus properly unlockable (with ruffle)
https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/641533
https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/635133
https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/626095
all the other ones previously listed are still unplayable (with the specifics mentioned in that post).
the only potential difference i found is with sokoboom 2, which now doesn't allow you to push blocks at all (unlike before where you could in limited capacity, though it mostly softlocked the game) and Ballad of the Cube, which turns out does respond to keyboard and mouse inputs; however, once you hit any arrow key (required for movement) it stops responding altogether. unless there's a different movement scheme (that i couldn't find), you can't move.
basically they're still as broken as before, the only thing that has changed are the circumstances surrounding them.
Turned off Ruffle for Aliens Like Milk and added all three to the spreadsheet.

@tomfulp
MP3 is ideal for web listening, especially back in 2003 when not everyone had fast connections. Ogg is good but traditionally not supported by all browsers. WAV and FLAC would generally be expected to be compressed for web-listening. MP3 has always been the format that is low-bandwidth and supported by all browsers.

Upon further thought it probably is best to not dip the toes into commentary videos that rely on other people's material. It's one of those slippery slopes.

Pardon me for the sudden ping, but would this be okay? It feels like it's similar in idea to what zone-tan did years ago if I recall? Just using an example of what I've seen from her.
Videos like this always feel a bit borderline, where the fear is they will open the floodgate to lots of Lets Plays and other commentary / drama / react videos featuring bits of original animation as a loophole.
In this case I like that the video has a decent amount of original animation and is about web animation, so I think it's worth a shot on NG.

We can still increase the prizes up until the winners are announced but it's best to raise them asap because it encourages more people to participate when they see bigger prizes.

It could be treated as one grand piece, or if there's a specific piece that's award worthy, either could result in an award.

Yup, include the second link to be eligible for a prize!

"Your submission must not auto-redirect to a new site or open pop-ups. If your submission auto-spawns something to boost stats on another site, your account will be deleted and admins for the target site will be notified."
My current web build has "Public Match" and "Private Invite" buttons marked as "(on Steam Only)", which would open a link to the Steam page in a new tab if the player clicks on them. So technically not "auto-direct" but the button doesn't state explicitly that it is going to open a web page. Does it violate any rules here?
No big deal if it does. I'll just implement the logic to disable the buttons in a separate build
It's ok to include external links like that.

This sort of piece would be acceptable as an entry.
At 1/4/26 12:07 AM, DiamondSkullz wrote:what if someone post's their submision early? will it still count?
It's increasingly frowned upon, since it can be seen as trying to manipulate the tag results by building a larger view count ahead of time.

@TomFulp I thought accounts before the dumping grounds change were grandfathered in?
I thought that was the case, unless it didn't grandfather for people who never used it.

The change was announced October 10, 2022, so if it's working as expected, accounts from before that date should be grandfathered.
