The first is a football flash advertgame on from Candystand. It was promoting Capri Sun. I can't remember it clearly, but you picked from a boy or girl player, and would remain stationary as the ball was passed to you. You click-dragged to kick the ball, but I don't remember if you were shooting goals or passing to other players. It was on a time limit, and when the timer ran up, it would show a hand reach into a cooler full of Capri Sun pouches, with the slogan "DIG DEEP" in these icy-colored letters. Last I could check, it was not on Flashpoint or Flash Museum, but I am hopeful that it will turn up eventually.

The second is a YouTube video I don't expect to ever see again. It was a Hotel Mario intro cutscene reanimation, possibly done as a school project. It was made in this grotesque but simplistic style which relied heavily on moving pre-drawn layers. About halfway through the video, the animator ran out of steam and devolved into moving the Mario/Luigi pieces randomly around the screen, resulting in isolated arms and legs floating about.

"Grotesque yet simplistic style" Like it was Cut-Out animation like South Park, but they were drawn in a disturbing manner?

The pilot for the planned Gremlins series in the early 90's. Gremlins is my favorite film series, with The New Batch being my favorite movie ever in particular, and if this was to be anything like the Beetlejuice cartoon, it would've been really solid. Plus with Gremlins being an Amblin movie there's a chance this could've had Tiny Toons and Animaniacs guys working on it. I thought the meta direction taken in The New Batch was brilliant and would have loved more of that.

When the Internet was still young, information wasn't as abundant or easy to find. When I was a kid, I remember some SpongeBob bumpers with Squidward and the zodiac signs. I couldn't find it again. I thought it was just a fever dream. Nope. It was Astrology with Squidward. Funnily enough, they didn't do all 12 signs.

Unless there were some animated, but never released.

Thick lines with flat colors, but deliberately ugly. Think along the lines of Home Movies and Squidbillies.

An decent amount but to name a couple.

I grew up on early Youtube watching all manner of let's plays, we're talking EARLY early around 2006-2007. There's so many from that era that's completely lost, youtube archival is already kind of spotty but stuff like this is more or less completely gone. It's one of those where you feel cut off from nostalgia on account that it's completely gone in that sense. I got a small list on my end based on what I remember but it gets spottier each day.

Beyond that; another is a flash game by Nitrome of a game called Balloon Maker, a little applet that let you make custom balloons for one of your games. That's been gone since 2009 and the few traces of it left are a few screengrabs and a handful of videos, nothing else.

Aren't Nitrome the guys who made Bad Ice Cream? Used to play that in elementary school, good times! Also, remember that lost Super Mario 64 Star Secret screamer video? That's what I was reminded of when I heard 'Early Youtube'.

Earthbound 64 is one of those unreleased games that always fascinated me. The Nintendo 64 barely had any rpgs and I was always curious how a game like Mother 3 would play on it. I wish that some sort of build would leak one day like how Dinosaur planet did to see how much changed from it to the final GBA version. It was going to be made for the Nintendo 64DD but went through a lot of trouble during development since a lot of the devs were new to 3D game development, and making a rpg fit on the Nintendo 64 wasn't easy due to the console's limited file size even with the Disc add-on. Finally the low sales of the 64DD in Japan didn't help matters either so it was decided to cancel the game. Thankfully development restarted on the gba and Mother 3 finally released, but part of me always wonders what the n64 version was like.

For me, it's this.
I know it's a video, but it's an artistic vision, and therefore counts as art.

I did somewhat keep up to date with the intriguing search for Subways of Your Mind, aka The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet, however that has been discovered now. I own it as a single on Vinyl which is pretty epic.

And while I wasn't around for it, the story behind Panchiko's D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L was very interesting, I highly recommend looking it up.

fuck you i was literally JUST gonna reply with the panchiko stuff

in all seriousness, the story was insanely cool to me, and as a result I found one of my all time favorite albums

"Brutus, you coming?."

I've been obsessed with a "series" that was probably canceled. I remember the trailer was on YouTube and had different music than the current one, which I thought was better.

There were quite a few concepts and animation tests, but now everything seems to be gone......
