I know it's a video, but it's an artistic vision, and therefore counts as art.

For many years, there has been an effort to recover the 1995 test footage for what would have been shrek as a more edgy dark comedy than how it turned out when it was retooled. A year or two ago, the entire 38 second test footage that dreamworks execs hated has been resurfaced.
If you weren't good enough for the prince of egypt and they couldn't get rid of you, they placed you on shrek.

I did somewhat keep up to date with the intriguing search for Subways of Your Mind, aka The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet, however that has been discovered now. I own it as a single on Vinyl which is pretty epic.
And while I wasn't around for it, the story behind Panchiko's D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L was very interesting, I highly recommend looking it up.

I remember that Pachinko album cover! I remember a Youtuber talking about 4Chan threads, and that was one of the mysteries of 4Chan.

It's British teen drama lost media lol.
Basically, when filming began for Skins (the best teen drama ever made) back in 2006, an unknown actress got the role of Effy Stonem. A few episodes with this actress were filmed before her Mother removed her from production due to the series mature content, leading to Kaya Scodelario (FOLLOW THE STAN ACCOUNT!!!!) getting the role instead. This footage hasn't appeared anywhere, and was never mentioned until a few months back by Scodelario on a podcast. It's likely destroyed forever but I'd love to see it. Skins was, and kinda still is, a pretty iconic show in Britain.

I'm sorry, I had to.
The only one I can think of is Metropolis, one of the very first serious sci-fi movies and hugely influential on the genre as a whole. These days it's almost been fully recovered, but that's a fairly recent development, I think less than half of the original movie was available when I first became fascinated with it as a kid.
Film back then was like video games today, the publishers only saw it as a cash cow and not as an artistic medium in its own right so why bother preserving anything once the money stops piling up? That, combined with nitrate film being prone to spontaneous combustion, means that something like 75% of all silent films have been lost, even really big ones (we will probably never see a complete Charlie Chaplin filmography).

Today I learned something new! Black-and-white films are lost because they might explode!
The Mighty Orbots had such a bangin' soundtrack, and I can't find a clean cut version of just the original music. It's extremely hard to find.

One of my favorite bands, godspeed you! black emperor, first made their existence known in 1994 with a demo tape that had only about 30 copies made, and was long considered lost until it eventually leaked online in 2022.
In my case, it would be the playable build of Hostile Takeover, a cancelled expansion for Half-Life.
Seriously, the whole history behind this expansion is absolutely bonkers.
In recent times, I was trying to independently find the remains of Doise's gameplay video in the Pizza Tower mod, Final Round, before spinning off as "Doise's Purgatory" and then...
Nothing on the Internet Archive was found, yet.
For me, it's the seldom remembered gaming TV show PXG for the children's network Jetix.
Back in 2004, alongside a push for corporate alignment as Disney had bought the then established Fox Kids to then rebrand into the action-adventure brand Jetix, Jetix in the UK commissioned a little known show called PXG from the production company Prism Entertainment, whose staff previously worked on other gaming TV shows like Gamezville for Sky One and Lan Jam for CITV.
Unfortunately, because this show was relatively new and at this point, DVRs like Sky+ became more prevalent, Jetix hardly reran the show on it's schedules, and I know this cause I've checked many TRILT pages (TRILT is essentially an in-depth archive of schedules, most universities in the UK have access to it) to find PXG hardly mentioned nor really kept archived due to it.
Is the show good? Ehhhh, not really. It's pretty much a show you wouldn't be able to get away with now, especially with the stereotype of the host, Kentaro, but it's a good look if you're into the ways that TV tried to present gaming as a complement to TV, and it made sense for a channel like Jetix to have a show about it.
I have helped with the production of certain videos about the show, but one of them is from a guy who I fucking detest and wish him a very "career end" because he is such an arrogant prick. Besides that though, there's plenty of information about the show on the Lost Media Wiki, and I'm always on the eye out for any new found PXG media.

When I was a kid back in 2015 and 2016 I used to play a browser game, it was made in a pixel art style, where you picked a character and went through several dungeons, the cool part was that you could transform into the characters you killed, and if you beat the level with them, you unlocked them to play again.
Furthermore, some dungeons had bosses, and you could even become the bosses.
But I couldn't find that game anymore when the website I used, "Click Jogos," simply removed it. I don't know if it was deleted or just disappeared from the page where I found it, but the fact is that it's no longer available.
No one has ever been able to help me, whether on Reddit or by searching through hours of threads within it, I've never found any mention of this game.
Some people might even confuse it with that knight game where you have 100 endings, but it's not that game, despite the similarities; this one only took place in dungeons.
That's it.

Just finding and/or discovering any kind of lost media that has been either forgotten or undiscovered yet is enough to keep me interested. I’d love to be the one to find and recover something that was thought to be lost in the sands of time.
Crash Bandicoot has quite a few scrapped games with varying amounts of salvaged assets. There's Crash Twinsanity's scrapped predecessor Crash Bandicoot: Evolution, which was believed to be reworked into Twinsanity due to Evolution's similarities to the at-the-time upcoming Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, there's Crash Tag Team Racing DS, which was scrapped due to Mario Kart DS being on the horizon (among other issues), and then there's Crash Landed, which seems to have been scrapped simply because Activision wanted more hands on an upcoming Call of Duty game.
It's a wildly unfortunate coincidence that two Crash games got shitcanned because the release would coincide with a Mario game that the devteam knew would blow it out of the water, and the cynic in me can only assume that if Activision let the developers continue to work on Crash Landed, that it would have just gotten mollywhopped by Super Mario Galaxy 2 instead.

There's actually his old commercial I remember and I'm trying to find.
This commercial was in North America. This commercial stars the 3 characters, they had rectangular prism bodies, one was pink, one was orange, and one was blue, they were 3d and much, much smaller than humans, like tiny.
These 3 characters are 3d-animated, and they go into a real store, walking around, until they find a tablet on a high shelf in the aisles.
They walk into the store, and the pink one wants a tablet on a very high shelf in one of the aisles. They stack atop each other, the tablet falls over as they try to grab it, and it falls on them, crushing them.
I believe this commercial was made sometime between the late-2000s and mid-2010s, and I believe I saw it on my tablet.
I don't remember the brand of tablet they were advertising.
The characters had a glossy/shiny appearance, akin to Frutiger Aero. Their arms and legs were also rounded.
I really like lost media, but I never have any interest in searching for it myself... I just really like to watch / listen to YouTube videos about lost media while drawing...

I've always been a sucker for a driving sim game where you get to explore, do mission and hog the radio stations in your vehicle being Grand Theft Auto series. In hindsight there is a ton of unused and scrapped content throughout the original trilogy excluding horrible Definitive Editions.
Hope I'm not cheating by including Grand Theft Auto titles here as they were removed from Steam and other platforms, as you're either forced to buy keys for whopping around 100-1000$ on the black market or pirating them. Thanks for Rockstar's odd decisions not keeping its memory and core to what they've made.
Some nifty but cool unused contents and cut examples before release being Vice City which is my favorite from the trilogy. I always found it also goofy how cover art was different from the characters' outfits having different tints of color.
It's a shame Rockstar will pull this treatment to their older gen games and remake their libraries especially with the Max Payne series, which was advertised with AI used slop. Regardless won't stop me enjoying their older titles by pirating and keep on playing for nostalgia and good vibes with Lance Vance Dance.

Surfin’ on the Flash Portal.
Hl2 beta. Waiting for raising the bar redux and dark interval mods to update for half life 2.

, or someone similar to their style because i remember going through their tumblr to find nothing to what i was looking for
and riffed on the episode "squidbaby" while the arthur one riffed the episode about secrets, but the videos got taken down by viacom and i don't remember the channel who made them, hopefully there's an archive floating around maybe hopefully idk In general, I’ve been obsessed with Lostwave when it peaked in 2024. Specifically, I really liked some songs that used to be unknown such as Canción de Alicia, Waste My Time, Just A Game, and Like The Wind.

I have two I can never quite get out of my head. Maybe one of you will happen to have one.
The first is a football flash advertgame on from Candystand. It was promoting Capri Sun. I can't remember it clearly, but you picked from a boy or girl player, and would remain stationary as the ball was passed to you. You click-dragged to kick the ball, but I don't remember if you were shooting goals or passing to other players. It was on a time limit, and when the timer ran up, it would show a hand reach into a cooler full of Capri Sun pouches, with the slogan "DIG DEEP" in these icy-colored letters. Last I could check, it was not on Flashpoint or Flash Museum, but I am hopeful that it will turn up eventually.
The second is a YouTube video I don't expect to ever see again. It was a Hotel Mario intro cutscene reanimation, possibly done as a school project. It was made in this grotesque but simplistic style which relied heavily on moving pre-drawn layers. About halfway through the video, the animator ran out of steam and devolved into moving the Mario/Luigi pieces randomly around the screen, resulting in isolated arms and legs floating about.
